Did Foreman's chin improve with age. Why did Ali drop him but not Holy or Moorer?

Not only this how many decisions did Foreman actually win? schutz? Saverese? grimsby? Stewart? most could or should have went the other way yet Foreman kept on getting the nod so he could continue telling jokes about hamburgers.

Foremans second career was mostly a gimmick. He was very clever and very shrewd to exploit the whole hamburger schtick. Of course he could fight but more than any other fighter he knew his limitations second time around. If you asked him he would agree.

If Tyson Kod Foreman (which he would have) people would still give Tyson ****.

Holmes literally begged Foreman, but Foreman didnt want to know.

Lewis and Bowe would have brutalised Foreman

not sure about Tucker and Ruddock as they were inconsistent

Anyone who thinks the Ali loss had ANYTHING to do with the Chin is an idiot.

Well, when it comes to fighters who remain effective in their 40s at any level, Foreman is part of a very, very small sample set.

That being said, there are cases of fighters appearing to have sturdier chins in their 30s than in their 20s. De la Hoya was down numerous times early in his career, and he later became known for having a great chin. Glen Johnson's ability to take punishment has also notably improved as he aged. Ditto with James Toney and Manny Pacquiao.

I'm sure some of it is improved technique over the years, but there is something to be said for the increased mass that comes with age perhaps adding an additional layer of protection from blows.

If Rocky Marciano had failed to knock out a shot Joe Louis, and I said that Louis had got more durable with age.........

That is what the 90s aficinados are doing now!

Tommy Morrison could crack. His punching power is one attribute of Tommy's that should be beyond reproach. Sure, he never beat an elite fighter, and he was beaten by the best guys he ever faced, but still, on punching power alone -- Morrison was a beast! He hit Foreman with flush shots, the kind of punches that knocked most other guys out, and George took them and kept on chugging forward. Foreman had a very, very good chin.
Holyfield staggered Foreman a few times with quick counterpunches that are much harder to block and/or anticipate, and Holyfield was an excellent combination puncher who hit Foreman with volleys of fast punches.
