Hi all, As you might have guessed from most of my posts on here, I run a boxing podcast where we usually get on top boxing guests (and David Price) Anyway, the podcast now has a new regular, monthly feature which is a "ask Enzo" feature. Basically, Enzo Calzaghe has joined our podcast team and will answer any questions that you might have for him each month. Whether its about current boxers or his past, you can ask him by either posting on this thread or on the ask Enzo article on our site (v2journal dot com) So hopefully, you will ask some interesting questions and listen to his responses! His second show is this Wednesday. Thanks! A
Is it true he offered his services to amir khan when he left Freddie roach and does he want to still be involved in boxing as a trainer What does he think of Lewis Rees,Craig Jenkins, the selby brothers,Gary buckland and the resurgent scene in wales
Yeah with Chris Jenkins exploding out of nowhere for most people with the Prizefighter win things are looking good. Looking forward to seeing a young cruiserweight called Danni Griffiths make his debut on the Clev-Kovalev bill too. The Clev bill is certainly a much needed outlet and showcase in terms of a big promotion in Wales. Have been really frustrated with W*rren over the last 18 months but when you see certain fighters with other promoters getting dragged to the other end of the country with no fanfare, well then it's good to see a big promotion back in Cardiff and supporting local talent. Which Welsh prospect does Enzo fancy most out of the lot of em?
Who did he learn from or was it all self-taught? Whats his opinion on other trainers eg - booth, mcdonnell, gallagher?
Which trainers/cornermen did he respect/admire/look up to most ? (Self taught iirc though something makes me think his brother or an uncle was involved early on.....dunno) If he could not have done Joes corner for any particular reason........who would he have been most comfortable with ? (taking his place........IF there was no option) When did he last have a Wimpy ?
Who does he think will win out of Tyson Fury and David Haye, and why? What does he think of Carl Froch's achievements, and how does he think he compares to Joe Calzaghe? Would he be willing to train Joe for a fight with Carl in the future?
Has he been back to Mickey's recently and what's his current stance on Tizer as a pre fight beverage?
Was there any fight where he thought Joe was the underdog going in What would he say to Joe if he contemplated a comeback, and would he offer to train him. Would he prefer to be a cow or a badger.
