Lee steps up to fight at fringe world class and looks pretty ordinary.

    Future world champion?

    Not quite yet folks.

Every fight I have seen him in he has not looked like a particularly exciting prospect.

European level art best I'm afraid. He simply hasn't got enough power to claim the straps.

It's one thing that's nearly always required in the pro ranks, a knockout punch. Very few successful world champions don't have it

Its no wonder hes an arrogant sod listening to bull**** statements like that.

There was some clown on here saying Selby could move up or down in weight and beat the likes of Frampton and Quigg if he wanted.

Never heard so much bollox in my life.

This was shite matchmaking though. They clearly hadn't fully checked out Simion and why he has almost exclusively fought in Romania. Loved eating those body shots and extremely energetic wasn't he.

Somebody with a lack of venom will always struggle at world level.

Simion was no push-over tho. He could have win that fight if he actually had fought before guys of Selbys level, but it was a step-up for both. Actually thinking about it Selby did had better opposition in the past, while Simion didn't had much to chose from, so I think the better experience helped Selby.

As usual we get kneejerk reactions
Selby was excellent in the first 6 rounds and doing the whole 12 against such a tough customer will have done him wonders

I'm surprised to read people think he has no power, that's simply not true for a feather he is massive on fight night and carries knockout power
Last night his punches had no effect as he was fighting off the backfoot which is something he hasn't done before

Give the guy a chance I still think he will be a top 10 featherweight eventually, just because he showed some vulnerabilities and a lack of composure for a few rounds means nothing long term.this is what development is all about

You're right, but it's more the case that you think it was a draw; that's just your opinion. Marginally, I think anything from a draw to a Selby win is acceptable, though the consensus is a Selby win.

****ing hell the usual fair weather **** on here. The boy is young, learning and the 12 rounds will stand him in good stead. He won the fight all day none of this draw ****. Stylistically not the best match up so expect better next fight.
