canelo in big bear. 130 rounds of sparring

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Macwitdacheese, Jul 14, 2013.

  1. 130 rounds will be done in California. Food specialists are there as well; hes already weighing 165.

Anyone else think Canelo is still "easy work"

This will be one of Floyds toughest ever fights, Canelo will go all out.

  3. I think so too. Only *****s are saying Canelo is easy work. I still think Floyd will get the decision, but it will not be a walk in the park. Floyd isn't that great at 154 (152 because obviously he feels threatened)

I'm glad Canelo is training his add off, for the first time I think he can really pull it off

I don't see this being a hard fight for Floyd. A fighter that doesn't have the stamina to box at a high pace for all twelve rounds isn't going to beat him. (Not unless he's a KO artist and happens to land a big shot early in the fight, and that's not something you can rely on against a defensive expert like Floyd.)

Canelo isn't a bad fighter, but I don't think he'll push Mayweather much.

Mayweather is going to stop Canelo im calling it.

Canelos Agression and floyd stamina and counter punching and defense will do him in.

Canelo was putting a hurt in Trout in the 11round, I don't know where you come from with these bad "stamina" thing.

  7. Well I was loose with the term "bad" I mean his stamina isn't s h I t but its not great either. And for the guy who said Floyd is stopping Canelo, I REALLY doubt that.

Canelo also lacks the height and reach advantage necessary to fight his kind of fight against a fighter like floyd. I think Canelo will be surprised at how hard mayweather hits as well.

Canelo's stamina is not SO bad, he was still throwing bombs in champions rounds(and unlike Quillin he doesnt lose his hand speed in the later rounds), he kept his hands up and had upper body movements, off course he aint prime Pacquiao, but he also is not Chakhkiev, who was literally falling apart from exhaustion. Trout was pressuring Canelo and Saul had to spent a lot of energy for lateral- and body movements. He will probably have the best training camp and his motivation should be insane, i think it will be a tough fight for Floyd.

You don't need to stop Mayweather to beat him, Castillo did it without even having to knock him down.

Short sighted really? Only 2 things going against Canelo is age (he could be so much better prepared to fight Floyd in 3-4 fights IMO, but no guarantee Floyd will fight then), and stamina.
No denying Canelo is bigger, hits harder, is actually a very smart fighter.. especially for being like 22. My only worry is the stamina really and if he works that a lot between now and fight time, I really think he can beat Mayweather.
Trout is a good big 154 pounder, it was a good fight for both of them (thought Trout won by a point), but I'd have been interested to see how much harder Canelo would have went if not for open scoring. Could have favored Trout if Canelo would thrown more and gassed out, but also could have made Canelo more aggressive and able to finish the job against Trout like he almost did.

A win against Mayweather isn't out of the realm of possibility IMO. Even Guerrero had a few rounds of success and if he continually found a way to go to the body, especially with Mayweather ducking then holding to avoid high punches (I'm sure he could connect every now and then when Floyd ducked), I think he'd have had a lot more success.

other than the cheap shot, the last time floyd ko'd anybody was like 10 years ago in hatton.

if floyd is to win, it's going to be via ud....floyd will play it safe.
