would that redeem Manny Paquiao or change the perceptions of who the greater fighter of this era was? It would be one hell of a turn of events but its the kind of "Pac has no chance" that WE HAVE HEARD BEFORE?

What you have proposed is definitely not out of the realm of possibility. I certainly wouldn't bet my house on it.

And yes, it would change a lot of minds if it did happen. Floyd would have no choice but to fight Pac if he wanted to seal his place in history.

I don't think people fully grasp how diminished foot would be as a star if he loses, in any way. The only thing he has to offer the general casual boxing fan is the mystique of his unbeaten record. If he loses that his name will be tarnished like we have all witnessed Pacquaios name be tarnished. People will call him a cherry picket and a boring fighter who finally got exposed.

it may set him back, but not that much. Floyd has more ability than any fighter on the planet. He is not the #1 p4p only because he is undefeated. He repeatedly beats top level fighters without explosive power or high work rate but with superior technical skills and 1 loss would not change that. But he has not lost yet and if any of you think it will be Alvarez that gives him his first loss you are sadly mistaken.

Very unlikely Canelo beats Floyd. But that said, if the scenario you describe happens, then I suspect most would still hold Floyd in higher regard overall due to him only having the one defeat, but it would spark up the interest in Floyd vs Pacquiao again.

It won't change anything, it will only further confirm that Pacquiao IS the greatest fighter of this era. The Marquez loss doesn't strip him off that title.

Think everyone should(hopefully) know that by now. The thread started is only discussing the topic as a fantasy.

Manny is a strong puncher but he doesnt have enough in him to stop Canelo . Call me crazy , i think Canelo would be the first man to walk through Mannys bombs .
