Remind me to NEVER shake hands with you. [In first and third world countries before and without the availability of bathroom tissue, the left is used for wiping after a "number two," hence the etiquette evolved for using the right for shaking. Me, now that I think about it, bowing like the Japanese seems far more hygenic.]

Hand shakes are for people who have swords. A bow will do fine.

That's why Donald Trump has a handshake phobia. The men who want to shake hands with him frequently have just been holding their swords in some bathroom urinal. [Physically, Trump is actually something of a gladhander, politician style, as opposed to being a glandhandler. He's not touch phobic specifically, and his bathroom based reservations about shaking the hands of strangers does make rational sense to anybody with a health care infection control type orientation.]
Agreed. Blame Thomas Jefferson in the United States for standardizing the handshake there. Washington always bowed in greeting [including to children], but Jefferson believed the handshake was more "democratic." Thus it's been ever since.

Jefferson [who was left handed]: "The greatest men in history were Newton [who was left handed], Bacon and Locke."

Hamilton: "The greatest man in history was Julius Caesar [who was left handed]!"

For whatever it's worth, assassinated [for being asinine] Roman Emperor Commodus was also left handed, and we all know what came to be named after him!

Search the sinister depths of your palm. You know it to be true.
