Repeat TKO6 a million times, but this fight will always remain controversial, which was exacerbated by Lewis' unwillingness to grant Vitali a promised rematch. The issue wasn't settled and that's why people still talk about it. As for the punch, I doubt it was intentional, it's just that it tilted the outcome to Lewis' favour.
IO don't see what was controversial, if that fight had continued Vitali would have had no career after he would have been blind. His face was getting destroyed and Lewis was getting on top after a slow start. TKO6 did him a favour and allowed him to have the good career he has had. A rematch would have ended quicker a fully fit fully motivated Lewis would have taken Vitali's head clean off his shoulders. TKO6 TKO6 TKO6 TKO6 TKO6 TKO6 TKO6
Throughout the whole fight Vitali was hurting Lewis more than Lewis hurting Vitali. It was a back and forth battle, but the fact was that Vitali's tides were lasting alot longer than Lewis' tides. Whenever Lewis stunned Vitali, his followups would last seconds while when Vitali stunned Lewis, he'd go well over a minute throwing punches and racking up points. It was costing Lewis big to come up with winds to which to exhert energy This here leads me to believe that had the right lasted just 2 or 3 more rounds, Lewis would have been completely depleted of energy and stopped. The cut saved Lewis, no doubt about it. Vitali was'nt going to get legitly KO'd that night. He was to focused and had to much energy for Lewis.
Man thats a legal punch. Plus Vitali was cut muitple times lets not forget. Vitali has thin cheese skin that cuts very easy.
"Repeat TKO6 a million times, but this fight will always remain controversial" translated "Repeat the TRUTH a million times, but Klit fans won't accept the loss" I've already said that is NOT the punch that caused the cut.
No. Lewis hit him and the glove slid as Vitali was deflecting the punch by moving away, there is no way in that particular situation for Lewis to have purposely cut him. It also appears the glove has no lace or the lace was taped over with red tape (so there goes that theory). I think Lewis was too powerful for Vitali. Unlike Wlad, i respect Vitali for fighting like a man for the 6 rounds he fought. Lennox was out of shape, not at his best, had a belly and still stopped Vitali in 6. He really only fought hard for the last 2 rounds when Krunk man got on his ass telling him he was losing as he thought he was winning the first 3 or so rounds. You also have to remember it wasn't just 1 cut, Vitali needed almost 100 stitches and many of them were on his other eye and other parts of his face. His face was basically falling off. Black eye, busted lip, bleeding out his mouth, cut on the eye brow, eye lash area, and on the cheek below the eye. These are not all from that 1 single punch.
Anyone else notice the cut above and below vitali's eye are roughly the size of lennoxs wrist? Pretty clear the wrist of the glove caused thoughts cuts after watching the video.
I had vitali winning 1-4. Then Lennox got told by his trainer he was losing. Lennox got real and put the whip down and vitali lasted 2 rounds. I honestly believe that Lennox could have ended the fight in 2 rounds. And this is why Lennox will never be great in my book. He could have stopped Vitali in 2 but instead chose to let him linger around. And that is what he often did. I don't think Vitali could ever have beaten Lennox if they fought 100 times. Why, because Vitali could not take a punch from Lennox. His skin was too thin. How many guys fought lennox and didn't get stopped in 6 rounds? Old washed up mike tyson gave at least what 8-9-10 rounds? He didn't need 100 stitches. In otherwords, prime vitali is worse than washed up tyson or washed up holyfield. Generally speaking Lennox knocks out guys in the 8-11 round anyways. When Vitali slowed down on his legs by just a fraction of a second, I believe he would have been knocked out, probably in the 8th. I don't think he could have taken more than another round or 2 at max of punishment. To get cut like that means you are taking alot of clean clean punches. It is why Liston quit after he got cut up by Ali, he knew he was going to get KOed. I don't see how Vitali could win, its not like Lennox was in a corner cowering at any point or even hurt. How was Vitali going to win on rounds? He can't run away forever, once lennox started trying to hurt him, he was in danger If anyone wants to post vitali's face compared to lewis' it would be quiet clear at best vitali could survive
Great point about the Klitschko's having thin sliced cheese skin that cuts way to easy. The Klitschko just does not have the skin to compete with great fighters. Th
