Let me preface this by saying GGG isn't/ can't be the new #1 at MW...BUT how can so many already claim he's the best when he's only beaten Macklin who fought one round in his next bout after being stopped by Maravilla?

GGG is good but can we really say he's great YET considering who he has and hasn't fought?

You are right he has not been against the best. However, he looks to have the skills and power to beat the best. Only time will tell, but it is exciting to see a guy like him, 9 ko's in a row and real boxing skills too!

13 consecutive KOs (9 in title defences), but hey who's countin'?

Reasonable point tho. The big fights gotta be made. I've little doubt GGG cleans up at 160, but I wanna actually watch it happen not just have him crowned by default.:thumbsup

he is doing what he is supposed to do I'll give him that, and the same I just want to see the guy fight big fights. I admire what he's doing by trying to look better against common comp between him and Serg....mentality of a champ right there.

  6. Why GGG is/will be the GOAT

    - Unbeaten is approximately 345 amateur fights (his 5 losses weren't even real one)

    - icecold, clear and without useless temper, boxing is his job, he is a real sportsman

    - Much more punching than Heavyweight Mariusz Wach

    - Great chin

    - he knows, what he is doing .. his fighting style is old Russian boxingschool refreshed with Mexican influences. He doesn't make mistakes.

    - great stamina. He fights 6-8 rounds of sparring with one rival and changes immediately to the next partner for 6-8 rounds. After this, he is going to the punching bag .. every training session.

    - he improves after every fight

Yeah but Ouma won a few rounds off him like 3-4 years ago.:patsch

What more proof does anyone need that he will never amount to anything???

plus he has skinny legs and weak skin...

Martinez is #1 at MW and he went life and death with macklin. GGG will kill that old man, the only fight I want to see at MW right now is GGG vs kid chocolate. For me that settles who is #1 at MW, and I believe GGG will pass the test just as easy.

Nah, GGG MUST fight Martinez to be universally recognized as the best MW in the world. Is Sergio currently the best at 160? No, but he's still the undisputed champion at 160 so everything must go through him...until he loses.

His skin does not cut easy but he swells easy. Swelling can be just as bad as weak skin. I see him having fights stopped do to his eyes being closed. BTW I will be starting a boxing website soon. But my site will only be based on facts as always.

I disagree. Lets look at the facts. Everytime Macklin stepped up he lost. GGG still has a lot to prove. The hype he gets on the forum is all about where he is from and skin color. And that is a fact.

Yes, the whole knocking people out and calling them good boys has NOTHING to do with it.....****ing idiot. He's exciting and a humble fighter, with a very good amateur background. That is why the hype. Your boy that almost dropped a decision to a 32 year old part timer malignaggi, now that's hype.
