It would have been something had Roy wrote DM a letter.. I wonder if it would have said something about DM being a coward and a ***** for that disgracful acting job he did.:think Or something about how he had already taken Griffin's soul by the time DM fought him.. Or possibly mentioned that DM and Griffin have something in common, they are **** actors. I have no idea what a letter proves.
I always hear about DM's willingness to fight in America.. Well, guess what? He never did. He couldn't of been that willing. Had DM truly wanted a fight with Jones, he would have come over here anyway, there were plenty of other good American LHW fighters better than the ones he was beating at home. That is what Tarver would have done... At the end of the day, DM needed Roy more than Roy needed him. Roy's legacy if fine without DM.. It is a bit of a black eye though... For DM it was and absolute MUST happen for his legacy.. And I honestly don't feel like he did all he could to make it happen.
Wow.. If you read carefully a. Kohl admits to Roy being eager to get in the ring with DM.. b. There was indeed a time when they were not answering Roy's calls.. c. They were not willing to change their plans all of a sudden to face Roy Jones Jr. this all came straight from Kohl's mouth. Sounds to me like they were dicking Roy just as badly as he did them, and at least in this instance, It was DM that ducked. And you are going to tell me with an ego like that, that it was imposible they turned down a double header because DM didn't want to play second fiddle to Roy?
As many times as this has been posted... I have never seen anyone subjectively argue it.:think Though I do think Froch and Kessler may have been better wins than Eubank was for Calzaghe. But, Calzaghe is clearly ahead of Ward at the time being.
Joe.Boxer, I wonder why you can't be bothered? Below is your own quote from yesterday. Below are three quotes from Roy. When asked why he didn't go to Germany, he said "Why?? You've seen what happens to fighters over there man. I'm confident, but I'm not stupid!" "I'm not going to Germany, it would be a dumb business move." "I don't even think a knockout would be ENOUGH over there!" Ha! You won't be schooling anyone, it's there for everyone to see. Roch caught him after the break, but he just clipped him. It wasn't a full blooded shot, and Dariusz started wobbling around, and then went down. It was ****ing embarrassing! He was nicknamed "The Tiger" and had a good chin, yet fell over from a clip. It was both hilarious and pathetic at the same time! Go and watch it. Like above, where you're going to school me later on another thread? The WBO belt was worth a packet of peanuts, and Roy wasn't a paper champion, because the WBC belt had got nothing to do with Dariusz. So you keep saying, but you've shown me nothing! Roy didn't want to go to Germany, and he had the power in negotiations, because he was the unified champ and the worlds best fighter. Roy held all the cards. What were the offers? They weren't to fight in America were they? So what was the point? Nothing specific?? It was a proposal. Of course it didn't have figures etc with it, because first they needed to know whether there was any interest in it. Obviously there wasn't, because it was turned down flat. Are you even looking at what you're typing, before you submit it? Again, why the **** would Davis have offered exact details, containing exact dates and opponents etc, without checking beforehand if they were open to the idea of it??? It was a PROPOSAL, and it was immediately turned down! Kohl didn't say "When are you thinking of staging it, or who have you got in mind for us to fight etc?" Kohl said "No! Dariusz is a proud champion, and not an undercard fighter!" That quote from above proves two things. 1. That's confirmation for you that the double header WAS proposed to them. 2. They clearly didn't want the fight. Because if they were genuine, and Dariusz was willing to go to America, then it would never have been turned down flat like that. I never said it was anything to do with Germany. Ha! In your previous post, you said "Davis must have been **** at his job, if he couldn't get hold of Kohl!" But now your admitting that Davis's phone calls WERE IGNORED! Davis did fax him. He faxed him an offer of the proposed double header, which was immediately turned down flat! Once again, Davis was under huge pressure at the time to deliver the network a huge fight for Roy, hence why he went out of his way to try and make it happen. What do you mean he didn't get hold of him? We KNOW that he got hold of him, because we know that Kohl turned it down and said "No! Dariusz is not an undercard fighter!" Kerry Davis had nothing to do with Roy's camp, he just worked in conjunction with Brad Jacobs to try and make the fight. Slightly better?? He destroyed Virgil Hill. He destroyed Griffin 2 years before Dariusz. He beat Lou Del Valle. He outclassed Reggie Johnson in an easy win. He beat Eric Harding. He destroyed Richard Hall before Dariusz, and toyed with Gonzalez and Harmon before Dariusz got to them. He also beat Tarver. Their resumes aren't even close. DM shamefully play acted against Roch in 96, and his best wins are Hill on points, and the Roch rematch in 2000. Slightly doesn't even come into it. This is all bollocks? Jones repeatedly ducked Dariusz? It's irrefutable? Ha! I've refuted everything you've said! You've given me nothing! The DM camp WANTED to fight Jones? Yeah, that's why they turned down the proposal, ignored phone calls, and fought De Grandis, King and Lakatos in Germany instead!
1) not a SMW. 2) over Lopez??? I mean, OK, some think Lopez could've done a bit more to ride off into the sunset with his flawless legacy - but damn. :!:
Wow, getting brutal.. Loudon owned this one, not that Joe boxer didn't own himself, by posting a link in which Kohl said himself they ignored phone calls, knew Roy wanted to fight, but they were not willing to suddenly change their plans to fight Roy.
Roy Jones banned DM's name being mentioned at a press conference... That's a fact.. Why???? Cause he wanted the "American"public to believe he was "the man" Why we even talking about this guy....its like some1 arguing that tyson gay is a great sprinter... He's a yank drug cheat like Armstrong, Marion Jones,..............
Means nothing...i have a link on YouTube that clearly shows louden and roid boy getting a wee bit 2close for comfort
Fact: there are no Brits in the SMW top 100. There is one American in the top 10 but not 5. So we can put all the nationalistic bickering in the rearview or take it to a junior light heavy thread if the Calzaghe vs. Jones stuff must continue. :good
