Or is he just going to hold onto for ever without defending it like he has done for the last 10+ months? Why hasn't he been stripped for refusing to fight for so long. :patsch

Vitali is the best heavyweight in the world today. Lennox Lewis went over 2 years without defending his title. Vitali said he will fight Stiverne next. Vitali by knockout.

Vitali is half retired. I don't think he cares if he never fight again...or cares if the WBC strips him. Things is, the WBC probably makes more sanctioning money on Vitali fighting once a year than they can on another fighter (other than Wlad) fighting 3 times a year. That's why they're not stripping him.

Stiverne's his mando. Purse bid is gonna be on Monday.

WBCs all over Vit like a rash, I think VK pretty much keeps 'em afloat.

When did lewis not defend his title for 2 years? He fought at least twice a year every year he was active apart from 1996 where he had a 9 month period of inactivity between Mercer and McCall II when he did not hold a title.

Lewis fought Vitali in June 2003 and announced his retirement in Feb 2004 so he never went 2 years without defending his title.

Vitali has only been inactive for 10 months which is acceptable in my opinion. He is facing Stiverne next as his mandatory so he is keeping his mandatory commitments. Yes we would all like him to be more active but he is clearly winding down his career.

No he didn't. I pulled you up on this on a different thread and you completely ignored me. Here's that post again for your benefit, hopefully so that you'll learn from it and not look like a tool in the future.

After he first became the WBC Champion Lennox defended his title in May and October 1993 and in May 1994 before losing it to McCall in September 1994. After regained the title by beating McCall in February 1997 he defended it in July and October 1997, March and September 1998, had two unification fights with Holyfield in March and November 1999, defended his titles in April, July and November 2000 before losing them to Rahman in April 2001. He regained his titles in November 2001 then defended it against Tyson in June 2002 and against Vitali in June 2003 before retiring in February 2004.

The longest period of time Lennox Lewis ever had between defences of his Title was the year and few days between the Tyson and Vitali fights.

If beating Chisora makes you the best HW in the world , then it must be Haye who takes that crown as Wlad refused to fight him and Vitali went life and death over 12.

oh, ok, going by your logic, Pac is better than Floyd because Pac knocked Cotto out, and Cotto gave Floyd a hard fight

When did Lewis go two years without defending his title? That's a lie.
