I was at Chisora's last fight, in which he looked poor. That said I think it's obvious that Dereck needs to fight against opponents which he can get "up" for in order to see the best of him. As it's already been said, he looked in good shape in the media work out.. would like to see him get the W over Scott. As for Scott; he's awkward, doesn't have much pop however can box.. so he'll look to keep Chisora on the outside and work his way to a decision. Could argue he should have done a lot more with his career, but I believe he earned good ££££ being a sparring partner.
Scott's a good fighter i think he's more skilled then a Helenius who is a fighter Chisora likes to fight. Tall, Economical and got no inside game at all. Malik has been in tough gyms for years sparring world class guys so he's certainly no mans fool and won't fall apart quick IMO. Scott Defensively is very cute with his half steps back and way he dips head down or rolls back to take sting out of a punch and when on ropes he leans back to take sting out of onslaught. Opens his right glove up to catch shots as well and likes to control the pace with his movement and jab which changes levels and disrupts rhythm of the pressure fighter. Economical in his output which is a issue but at same time he doesn't give much away and it's the type of fight where he could frustrate Chisora. Chisora's a wide puncher so i could see a lot of moments with Scott approaching ropes and Chisora flailing over the top of him and ref breaking them up. I feel Scott for as skilled as he is. Is being a tad overrated in terms of his skill. He's offensively not spectacular from what i've seen he's good and has speed and can work inside diligently but the accuracy of his counters isn't great. This could be to do with the years out of the ring and still getting into things. He sees the counters and has the speed but accuracy isn't as high. I believe his style is to manage the pace, pick off the rounds and protect his lack of stamina which i think he knows is his weak point he rarely steps on the gas and puts it on someone with devastating fashion. I think the key for Chisora is to walk him down with head movement and feint to set his work up. Chisora needs to punch in 2's and 3's and with variation and step off and round to land as Scott dips head down. I think if Chisora keeps the pace high he could get to Scott in the middle rounds and drag him into a entertaining brawl. Scott is game so he won't go running from the war. Scott will look to frustrate and try to nullify Chisora and pick him off here and there and hope that Chisora's frustration spills over. This fight's as hard as Chisora wants to make it. If Derek comes in looping single punches from mid to long range and not working on inside like he has before he will have a hard night. Opening bell he has to knock the shine off the Rolls Royce. For Scott he needs to fight more centre ring then he did with Glazkov. Chisora is more of a motor and needs breaking down can't just let him motor forward. Work the jab centre ring and pivot off hooks to the body and then walk off and take a break here and there. He needs to disrupt Chisora's rhythm and show aggression from time to time to emphasize he's quality in the rounds. Chisora likes fighters backing up to ropes and this is where Scott needs to step forward then step off. Mix it up!. I did fancy Scott but the stamina is a worry. But with it being 10 rounds Chisora best get a move on!. Pick em'. Might go for a draw on my bets .
Interesting from Skills.Respectable judge.Draw not out of the question, either, imo. Also,I think, late stoppage by Scott, but Im going for points.I thought this was too good a fight to come off,but looks like it is,and it can't fail to be very interesting. The Boxnation knockers can't be real fans if they can afford a tenner a month and don't have it.Just my opinion, folks!
Has anyone read into Frank's comments that Chisora "has" to win the fight? Usually he just says "he's only had x amount of fights". Is he sacking him off if he loses?
I remember a good few years ago, maybe around the time of Fury/Chisora, where Scott was in his absence from the ring, no one had any interest in him and had seen him as an overrated cherry picker. His only notable fight is his last against Glaskov where he likely got robbed when he only got a draw, which is what most people base him as favourite off. However Glaskov could have been overrated, his best win was a strange TKO against Tor Hamer who retired after 4 rounds. So really there isn't much to look into there. So despite Chisora having a lot less fights, he has mixed with much better company and his efforts vs Helenius and Vitali have shown he can mix it at the top level. For me the fight is won or lost by how much Chisora has lost, as he wasn't his best last fight so you have to wonder. I think that he will win, likely on points, as he'll be able to bully and outwork Malik, unless Chisora is gunshy and shot, which I don't think he is just yet, he should win fairly easily.
Code "TVOFFER1" bypasses the Boxnation registration fee and gives you 6 months for the price of five.
If Chisora wins this it will be his best victory and will catapult him up the ratings. But,as Ive said before,I seriously doubt it.
Stuck £50 on Chisora to win on points at massive odds of 7/4. * *Note I think Chisora will get boxed senseless by Scott but am expecting a massive robbery win for the limited Chisora. I've already envisaged the boxnation commentators going on and on about how Chisora "won" due to work rate despite winning nowhere near 2 rounds. This fight will look like Adamek vs chambers/Cunningham. With the way Scott fights proving very easy to rob despite dominating.
I could actually see this prediction being correct but will be exciting watching him try.Cant fail to be a decent fight IMO.Also has some significance in a division thats a bit devoid of talent, the winner could get a straight crack at a title. No intentions of missing this one.Didnt think it would happen,a few brownie points for the promoter.
If Chisora pressures Scott, Scott will tire. Scott runs out of gas in the later rounds. Scott has no power to keep Chisora off him....................
Is this inside knowledge from the US?Must admit, don't know much about Scott.Saw him against Glasgov, and stamina didn't seem to be a problem.Glasgov stopped Tor Hamer, who beat a good Fury opponent, albeit over 3 rounds.
