Silva was KOd in his first pro boxing fight and looked absolute garbage in his 2nd fight.

Get of here with that ****.

I don't sit here and ***** about there being no more than a handful of Mexican/Mexican-Americans in the NFL. I guess, Goodell is racist.

EVERY sport has its dominant ethnicity for WHATEVER reason.

Silva has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, black belt in Taekwondo, black belt in Judo, and a yellow rope in Capoeria. So yeah, I would imagine he has.

The point of MMA is not to master all martial arts but to be well versed in many of them.

A boxer would do horribly in MMA because all they can do is box, they would easily get taken down and submitted or GnP'd by any MMA fighter who is worth anything. Leg kicks are also very dangerous for boxers because their legs aren't conditioned to take punishment.

Jose Aldo could defeat Floyd Mayweather with one leg kick.

Boxers will also get outstruck on the feet by MMA fighters because they are more versatile with their striking and can threaten with the takedown.

Sakuraba was old, way past his prime, and probably shouldn't have been allowed to fight because of all the damage he took throughout his career when he fought Rubin Williams (not the best boxer but he was good), but Sakuraba toyed with him standing, never got touched, and took him down with ease and submitted him as soon as he wanted to end the fight. He even spanked him on the ground just to rub it in. This all happened in about 3 minutes.

MMA fighters will defeat a boxer in MMA as easily as a boxer will defeat an MMA fighter in boxing most of the time, they're both legitimate sports.

Wrestlers are dangerous for strikers because the striker constantly has to be ready for the takedown, which limits their ability to strike because they mostly do away with kicks and knees unless they know how to time them very well, a lot of times the striker will be more flat-footed against a wrestler than usual.

Still, Anderson won the rest of the exchanges that night and dominated the stand-up in the rematch.

The only one to really outstike Anderson was Chris Weidman, and that's partially because Anderson was acting like a clown that night and was pretty much refusing to counter when he had the opportunity, that and Chris Weidman is no joke and Silva is 38.

I'm done ranting, sorry guys lol.

Anderson Silva had two pro boxing bouts about 10 years apart. He got knocked out in the second round in his debut.

MMA was originaly started to see who would win between different disciplines (Thai boxer v. boxer). Now, most MMA fighters have no combat background and enter the sport learning "free-style" MMA which is just wrestling with punches and submissions thrown in... that's what MMA is now. It's falling as fast as it rose. It was a fad.

And for the record, you could end a street fight faster with a one-two than you would with a kick to the head or tryin to take them to the ground.
