Uk is at least as bad but I reckon much worse than Germany. Yes Malik made an error where the ref had an opportunity to rip him off - so in that respect Malik screwd up. The whole boxing world knows the stoppage was crap so at least Scott wont lose opportunities. Sad part for me is that I favoured Chisora to win - this gift does him no favours.

It certainly seemed that way. You simply can't win fights if you don't throw punches. I can see the logic in giving away a few early rounds if you believe that your opponent will punch himself out...in a 12 round fight, but not a 10 round fight. A rematch will be fun to watch but I seriously doubt that it happens.

    * Scott should have decided to get up before the count of 9. Not once he heard 9.
    * Ref should have counted to 10, then assessed the situation. Not wave his hands after 9.

Both are at fault for what happened.

Actually he has said a few things on twitter. He reacted about the same as when he got screwed v.s Glazkov: Like a professional.

Rewatch the knockdown, not the slow motion replay. It doesn't start from the punch it starts when his knee touches (as that was the first contact with the canvas other than his feet). The ref was a full second ahead. Use a stopwatch or count for yourself.

He was landing the better punches, imo. up on my cards 3 rounds.

I agree with your second point. However, I think it's a shame we have to blame boxers for bad calls.

you're talking some serious crap here. there is no way the UK is anything like Germany.

what's wrong, got sick and tired of being called the cheats you are by ripping Brit fighters off so you're looking for anything you can to throw mud at us?

don't be such a sad case, yeah. :-(

Malik waited until after the 9 count to get up. it's HIS fault and no one else. he's been around long enough to know what to do in certain situations.

he either did this just so he could quit while saving face, or he's a genuine simpleton. take your pick.

i hate cheating where ever it happens. if something untoward had taken place i'd have no problem about airing what is right. but that isn't the case here. Malik lost. if he had of gotten up, he would have been beat down and stopped. i think he knew this so baled out like a coward.

    @Nanaki

i've watched the timing on YT. from his knee touching the canvas to getting back up, is 11 seconds.

I swear, some refs are just idiots who get off on making a big dramatic wave off like the crowd is there to see them or something. You would think the ref should give the benefit of doubt to the fighter just for the sake of the paying crowd. Was just watching Benn-Watson on another thread and Benn went down at 8:35 and was up at 8:43 and the ref still waived it off. Not totally sure if it was a count-out but it looked like it. Some refs just suck

    How?

Chisora repeatedly stunned Malik with right and left hooks( to the head and body) throughout the fight. Scott didn't even use his jab and the only really clean shot he landed was a left hook on the inside.

I have no clue how people think Scott was having success in there.

He was wilting, both physically and mentally. And whether he was up in time or not, fact is Chisora dropped him and it was only going to get worse for Scott.

He was clearly on his way to losing, if not getting truly stopped.

If the ref had not stopped the fight Chisora would have knocked him out anyway. Scott is a fraud.

It's a classic British stoppage. Scott beat the count. The ref wanted to give the hometown fighter a victory. I've seen this time and time again where they stop the fight early or give the visiting fighter a bad deal.

Bad way to call the fight for the ref, bad way to show you're okay from Scott. I had Scott winning when he got KD'd. I didn't think it was that bad of a fight at all. I saw a lot of complaints about it.
