I object to PPV on principle but end up buying it but I will be at the fight.

Where did you hear that? Who told you? When did you hear it?

You're talking ****, Hearn could have let it go to purse bids and got it for much cheaper with Groves only getting 25% of the purse so he's didn't have a huge bargaining chip.

He's getting no more than £500,000 for this fight - and even then I'd doubt it's that high.

Froch will be making £1m (if that). He was paid $750,000 for Ward and £250,000/£350,000 for Bute/Mack so just because he was paid big money for Kessler doesn't mean he's getting that every fight.

Groves earned roughly £250k for the Degale fight so it's not unthinkable that he would get a purse of £1m IF this is a PPV fight although I find that hard to believe. I think £500k would be more likely and Froch around £1m but it probably depends on the sales I guess. For this to do well it would need a really decent under card, Brook, Barker, Bellew, Quigg etc. in decent scraps.

No doubt they have returned to stiffing the fans. Domestic fights which they hope they can hype enough to justify a PPV. Haye vs Fury is a world class fighter vs a prospect trying to genuinely break into the mix but that is all. Froch vs Groves is very similar.

It is a good match up but to warrant PPV it needs at least 2 or 3 big competative supporting fights. Brook vs a genuine fighter, Quigg in his world title shot etc

Why should it be extra large purses given that Groves is Froch' mandatory?

It's not like Groves has the other belts and it's a big risk all unification and Groves hasn't even really beaten anyone other than an over the hill Johnson and Degale who has done nothing at world level.

It's not a PPV fight on it's own at all it's a domestic defence of Froch's title, I'd accept PPV and buy it with a STACKED and I mean STACKED under card of quality fights but even then I won't pretend this is the kind of fight that Sky should be bringing back PPV for.

Was degale vs groves ppv? We never get stacked under cards here so Im not gonna hope for much, maybe a big domestic scrap and some Bull****
    'final eliminator...

A million for first time challenger who isn't exactly a big name to the casuals is ridiculous! Doubt froch will even get a million!

Degale Groves was PPV but from memory it wasn't supposed to be the main event (got pushed up due to Cleverleys original opponent withdrawing).

I don't think this is PPV. Don't think it'll beat the Kessler numbers. Haye Fury is due to the volume of sales it'll do (rightly or wrongly). Just don't think this is.

They probably need 150k buys at least to make this work I'd say based on the approx figures I estimated in my earlier posts. Absolutely no way could Froch take 3m and Groves take 1m plus whatever under card is on, just won't happen the numbers wouldn't work.

Maybe Sky are hoping to cash in on the momentum a big HW fight like Haye/Fury can create for the sport and hope to get some extra buyers for this fight too?

i dont think it will be ppv unless it is a absolutly rammed card, with quiggs world title shot and appearances from matchrooms other big names.brook,barker,selby,etc.only problem is most have fights lined up pretty close in sept etc, plus theres the haye v fury card which most people wont splash 15quid twice in 4/5 weeks.
id imaine groves will get around 300-400k with froch around a 1m-1.25.
i hope groves wins but can see froch by late tko

What Eddie needs to get right is the choice of under card opponents. He needs to make sure the fights are competitive, yes Quigg has a regular WBA "world title" shot but if that fight is against a dog **** opponent it means nothing and we know next to nothing about this cuban guy Salinas so it's bit of a hit and hope from Eddie.

Bellew needs to be on the bill in a good fight, against someone that comes to fight, maybe Barker could be defending his title should he beat Geale on the same bill, if he loses against Geale then throw him in against Macklin or Lee! That would whet the fans appetites for sure those fights are long over due.

Just don't have a "stacked" card in terms of Sky fighters but against unknown Argentinians, regardless of their records or their reputation if UK fans don't know them then it doesn't sell well.

The demand was there for Froch v Kessler , it was a much anticipated rematch between two guys who have been elite fighters for a while, the fight wetted the appetite even of the casual boxing fans , everyone knew what they were getting putting those two in the ring together , toe 2 toe they were going to both have a go and the first fight helped sell it.

Groves however hasen't been in yet with an elite fighter and however you dress it up hasent proven himself worthy of mixing it with a top Carl Froch.

Its a car crash waiting to happen, only Groves is the rabbit in the headlights of a skip lorry travelling at 60 mph!

Mark my words Groves wont go more than 15 minutes SO the undercrd has to be as strong as possible to even get the punters in the arena nevermind PPV!

I personally spent a small fortune to get to London and get decent seats , without the undercard being announced although i was dissapointed in the card hugely, this time the Main Event doesnt hold up like Froch V Kessler 2 and i along with many friends believe the key to this night being a success is the undercard!

I think alot of people lost trust in what Eddie says when he said," it would take the **** not to but a decent card on" for Warrior Call.

When you look at the card for say Luke Campbell it does make you feel the undercard for Froch v Kessler 2 was an after thought of which it was!

This fight will be at the Manchester Arena but Eddie best have his card sorted for the presser because its not gonna go the way of the Cobras last fight in ticket sales otherwise.

    PPV MOST DEFO NOT!
