People paid and traveled to see him fight but ended up witnessing a fix or a quit job. Who an earth will show up for his next figh.. matc.. whatever.
I agree with this post 100%. Chisora was clearly very motivated and exploited Malik's calculated inactivity by landing bombs early and often. I'm a Scott fan and I was generous in giving him 2 rounds. Anyone saying that Malik was up on the cards, at the time of the stoppage, is crazy.
Pretty certain all three judges had him up 49-46 going into the 6th rd. Also pretty sure thats how I saw it.:yep
Normally I'd say rematching Dereck after such a controversial loss, but he probably loses the rematch on points too so it wouldn't be a wise decision in this case. I'd say try to make some marks at the US scene, plenty of padded record cannon fodder over there to look good against.
It will be hard for him to get fights now as he will be seen as already exposed. Why would Chisora rematch him? Why would anyone who could be in line for a title shot risk fighting him? Maybe he should fight Price, Adamek or Arreola as none of them are riding high at the moment and need to rebuild so may take a risk and face Scott.
Sorry but I just don't see it. Malik just wasn't busy enough for me...not to mention that he got rocked at least once every round.
Chizzy rematch, or Glazkov. Risky proposition either way (assuming he gets Chizzy in the UK and Glazkov on a Duva card) but the reward for avenging the loss or draw would be considerable and mean that he could perhaps launch into contention now that he finally has some TV exposure.
