Check this out, Contrary to popular belief, Floyd hasn't lost a step or missed a beat. His physical and mental preparation not only meets but exceeds his former self. He hasn't subtracted but added to his repertoire and the most dangerous thing about him is his wisdom. He knows Canelo better than Canelo knows himself because he has seen him many times before. He has Canelo's M. O. down pat and he knows what to do to beat him. On the other hand, Canelo don't know Mayweather because he has never seen or met anybody like him. He truly believes that he has the strength and power to knock Mayweather out and that will be his undoing because Mayweather is hard as a rock and smooth as silk. He is gonna tie the young man in knots mentally and spank him like a big boy is supposed to. Nothing lasts forever is true but forever isn't here yet and it's not coming on the 14th of September.

Yep I remember that fight, floyd senior was not in his coner but out in the crowd, he yelled out to Floyd jr, to keep it up and he would be ready to go in the 9th round. Good post. Quincy

These weaknesses and disadvantages to Floyd are the only way to make his fights the least bit competitive and exciting at this point.

Canelo's power is extremely overrated here though. He went 12 rounds with Matthew Hatton.

    No excuses on my end.

I've said since before the fight was made that Canelo's not ready, and I'm an Alvarez fan. Floyd's still too good- he keeps himself in supreme condition, and he rarely takes much punishment in his fights. While nothing's impossible, he's the last guy I'd expect to see get old overnight.

I have no doubt that Alvarez is busting his ass to improve and we'll certainly see a better fighter than we did against Austin Trout, which is saying something considering the short turnaround from Trout to Floyd.

That said, I just don't see him being improved enough to beat Floyd. It will be a great learning experience for him, but Floyd's the clear favorite for me- 8-4, 9-3 style.

Should Canelo get a knockout under any circumstances, it'd be a fantastic win for him and I'd give him full credit.

Canelo is no knockout artist , but he packs a heavy punch . He hits harder than any of Floyds recent opponents . Floyd will show the world thats hes aware of Canelos power come sept 14 when hes fight a super cautious fight .

Alvarez Nearly knocked out the much bigger , heavier Trout when he dropped him after just "1" punch . Floyd is a clever fighter , hes more than aware that Canelo can take him out .

are you talking about round seven whereafter being knocked down trout went on to outthrow canelito by 20 punches and end up only being outlanded by one single punch?

to most people, that wouldnt seem to be the actions or activity of someone that was "Nearly knocked out."

    Canelito nuthugging at its finest.

That doesnt change the fact that Austin Trout was still nearly knocked out in that round . Look at his body language , the way he dropped to the floor . On his way down , he looked like he didnt what the hell just happened .

Trout before fight - " Canelo has not developed his man strength yet "

Trout after rnd 7 - " What the hell was i talking about ? "

LOL, I suppose there always has to be some fool that will bet against Mayweather and enrich the pockets of others. It seems that every mediocre fighter they put in front of Floyd, there is some MMA fan who actually believe the hype has a chance.

Dude, there's a difference between being knocked down, and being KO'd. Anybody who thinks Trout was almost Ko'd from that shot is delusional.

He came back and dominated the rd after being kd
