Fine, Hatton didn't bounce him around for nine rounds, but of the eight completed he did control Senchenko with shocking ease through five. Then Hatton came unglued and Senchenko swept 6-8 as clearly as Hatton did 1-5. Very easy to score. Fact is, to drop five straight against someone that rusty (and who had often bloated up to well over 200lbs during his few years off, many stone beyond even the blowups that used to his off-season norm while active) shows you are fairly poor. Senchenko was the very definition of a paper champ, and really isn't a very big announcement. He'll be the 5th or maybe 6th best name on Brook's resume in reality.
That would be pretty special. Senchenko doesn't pose the same kind of problems a Jones did, however - and you have to believe that Brook has by now sorted the issues that led to nearly screwing the pooch there.
you sound stupid so your saying but brook drawing bigger crowds he is a better fighter? So Froch is a better fighter than Ward right?
Brook has had, what, 30 fights? And he's still fighting people like Senchenko? There is NO excuse for not stepping up by now.
Step down from M. Hatton, old N'Dou, Jackiewicz, arguably Jennings and Bienas...maybe a lateral move from Jones... Wait for the hard sales pitch, though. False. It was Brook who pulled out last time. Devon is only available to fight Khan if Hearn had pissed away Kell's mandatory position. Kell is done with Alexander. Thats two title shots he walked away from.
Hearn ****ed up here. Was supposed to announce a BIG name last week. Now it's Senchenko. Think Eddie's done a Frankie W and shot his load too early. I wonder who he thought he was going to be able to get over?
Even had the Cintron rumors been true, it would have been foot squarely in mouth. If you make overtures of getting a "big name" welterweight, especially for someone widely considered to be overdue for a step up, there is a short list of what's acceptable. (excluding those unavailable due to injury or too recently/soon competing) Khan, Vargas, Mosley, Guerrero, Alexander. Strictly as far as delivering on the "big name" promise (without all of them necessarily guaranteeing to be competitive or creditable accomplishments) - that is about it at welter among those who've been in the ring no later than May, leaving them fresh to meet Brook in October.
Nobody that great tbh Hearn has the same problem that Frank had; its a rich division, Kell isn't a star & the only way to make major fights is by taking a risk in America.
