This was the same year Leonard and Hearns fought so it may have stole some of this fights thunder( which I believe Muhammad vs Lopez II was a better fight)..This was an all out war..Maybe one of the the best LHW Championship bouts ever. Phenomenal!!!!!!!!

Saad was certainly lucky Joey Curtis wasnt the third man that night !
Perhaps a few other Ref's might of intervened to save Saad during his round from hell.

He had several rounds from hell that night, as I recall. :D

Yaqui fought such a spirited fight, and did so well for so long, but I thought he let his emotions get the better of him in that 8th round and he more or less shot his wad then and there. He wasn't the same after that, and Saad showed his strength and resilience by jumping on that opportunity.

Very different fight than the first one, which I thought Saad had more or less in control save the eighth round of THAT fight, which is also fantastic. Second time around, Yaqui slapped him around pretty good before Saad took control around the ninth.

Lopez had one of the most educated left hands I have ever seen. He took Saad to the brink. Probably the best fight I've ever seen.

His left hand was both powerful and on the mark!

The first bout was relatively close but Saad won by 3-4 points if I remember correctly. Saad destroyed him in fight 2.

I've got both on tape. Great bouts. I've also got both Marvin-Franklin bouts on tape. Kinda hard to get a better 30-40 rounds of LH super-action all together! Super stuff!!!
