brook is mandatory for the winner of khan v alexander. why wud he want to risk that by fighting in a 50 -50 fight against guerrero, ortiz maidana etc. and of course hearn is gonna big up shevchenko. of course he will say its a big name, as everyone in the uk wud know him after the hatton fight. hed be a fool not to. his job is to fet as many viewers as possible. do yous think as many people wud watch if he said he is a mediocre opponent. he knows the hardcore will watch anyway. hes tryin to attract the casuals. thats his job. boxing is a business. he needs to make as much money as possible the majority of people on this site would make really bad promoters. and brook will fight his big name in the states next year cause thats wen he has to wait to get his title shot. hed be a fool to jeporadise that.

For god sakes tho, why is it all about constantly waiting to fight through being a mandatory...?? other guys don't do that... and also the khan alexander winner is looking like theyl go on to meet floyd.. so what will happen then??

i supposed being a mandatory gets them a better deal. its probably a safer way to get a title shot if there is an easy path to be numer 1. like in kells case. so it comes down to money again. once he wins a world title he cud bring bigger names over to shefield. well i suppose the winner of khan alexander cud squeeze in a mandatory the end of febuary. cause it will be may when they fight floyd. but to be honest id say they are setting up garcia matyseese for floyds next fight.

Ricky Hatton beat himself. The fact that it took Senchenko so long to break him down speaks less about his ability as a fighter. Ricky was slow and wild, his timing was all wrong. He had power and backed Senchenko up a bit but a world class fighter would have put paid to Ricky a lot earlier.

Senchenko is shite and Brook should steamroll him.

The pathetic thing is, that it probably is a step up for Brook, which says more about Brook's career, than it does about Senchenko.

Yer i know, i just thought with him puling out twice and devon pulling out once etc... that after that saga they'd go another route.. eddie hearn sure does love his mandatorys. YOu can't wait around forever, kell is 30-0 without beating any real name lol.. it's just getting silly now..

I highly doubt khan/alexander (if they were to be offered floyd in may) would risk fighting a mandatory in feb.. if they lost they don't get the floyd fight. Would be pointless, they'd probs end up givin up the belt if mandatory comes around. Then kells fighting for a paper title... useless.. still wouldn't have any respect

I was hoping it was going to be v Paulie. Senchenko is still a tough night for Brook.

Brook will smash this guy to pieces, lets not forget this kid is in his prime, this is the guy who finally retired ricky hatton, the very same hatton who made atg tszyu quit on his stool. Thats right, Kostya tszyu who pancaked a prime judah in two rounds and made him stumble around the ring like he was a drunk giving out fire safety advice. And that was prime super zab judah who gave Pretty Boy Floyd the worst five rounds of his life...

And people wonder why floyd wants NOTHING to do with the special one... join the dots...

    No Blueprint. None.

I'm sorry, is there any actual proof that the average man on the street knows who Senchenko is?

If he'd turned up and sparked Hatton a la Prescott-Khan, I can see how he might have gained a bit of a reputation, but does anyone actually know any casual boxing fans that think Senchenko is a killer based on that fight? Does anybody even remember who he is?

Casual boxing fans are not the complete idiots Hearn takes them for. Anybody who watched Hatton vs Senchenko knows that Senchenko isn't a world class fighter or a big name.
