All this PED bull**** is way out of hand. This isn't the tour de france.....it's boxing. Fighters should just shut the **** up and fight. Of course cheating is bad.....but stop accusing anyone who is winning. The truth is, all the testing in the world is not going to change anything because those who are or who want to cheat, will. And if ALL of our favorite boxers are "cheaters".......then the playing field is level. To ***** abd belly ache about certain fighters or crying about writing off the sport is some sucka ****. I respect those who take extra tests because thats what they believe in......but for those who have never tested dirty and are not linked to any smoking gun and decide to operate under the current testing regulations I say God bless him. We are in a era where boxers find themselves in a position where they talk themselves right out of fights based on nothing more than having a winning record.
Like it or not, all athletes are on something. The general's mindset is that if someone is on something we will definitely know what it is and who is behind it. In reality, it's the hidden/unknown supplements/people that are most dangerous.
You know what else allows a fighter to punch harder and stay stronger for longer periods of time? Training. In fact, roadwork and sparring are by far the best things a fighter can do to prepare himself for a fight. Should those things be banned as well on the basis that they make fighters more dangerous?
I'll play devil's advocate and go out on a limb. In a sport like boxing. .....and any other big time sport where it's high intensity and high impact. .....why not introduce regulated performance enhancing drugs? Hear me out......this problem isn't going away and based on the nature of some of these sports. ...the expectations for performing at peak levels are high for a lot of these professional athletes. The rigorous routines require a certain amount of rest and rehabilitation because the human body can only take so much before it starts breaking down. A lot of time athletes are trying to reverse the effects of the trauma they've put their bodies through to prepare it for the war that awaits them. Pulling out or calling off a fight is a big taboo in sports but boxing even more so. PEDs and all other kinds of enhancing drugs are here by design.....evolution of athletes, their bodies and their sports created a platform that allows this kind of situation to not just live, but flourish. We.....fans.....big wigs who own big teams. ...we want bigger, faster, stronger men entertaining us in their respective fields. The pressure for them to deliver has never been greater. Why not move to regulate? Just some food for thought.
I'm with you, but the problem is the powers that be decided it would be a better idea to exaggerate the **** out of the potential negative effects of PED use and ban most of them outright. The truth is most PEDs can be used safely with very minimal side effects and they really work, but they're illegal so there will always be some who don't want to take the risk of using them and will be at a disadvantage. That doesn't sound like much of a level playing field to me...
I agree with you. But even those you are speaking of....who don't want to take the risk of using PEDs to assist their bodies to reach maximum potential, they are still using supplements and other unique methods to push their bodies to their limits. They call it "organic" but the fundamental foundation is ultimately the same. Athletes look for ways to reach peak levels of performance by using their respective ****tail of choice. Whether it's made in a lab or an herb found in some remote location on the earth, they are finding ways to improve their abilities.
You're going to use this crap as an argument? Take it all the way to the highest court in the land, "you must ban roadwork and sparring if you are to ban PED's! !:
I think its a terrible idea. Got to remember that the human body has its limits. The brain is'nt meant to take the shock that comes from getting punched over and over. In a combat sport, exceeding the normal physical capacity of a highly tuned fighter by allowing PED usage which would then allow him to be that much more ferocious by throwing high intensity punches more consistently throughtout a fight because through PED's he's able to exhert more of himself physically......... What of the Tex Cobb's, Arturo Gatti's, Margarito's???? What of fighters like this that are built to take punishment and would now legally take prolonged beatings from fighters enhanced by PED's??? Will a fighters fist cause more damage if he was taking PED's??? Thats the opponents brain taking that damage and its why PED's should not be legalized in combat sports. Its dangerous enough without the PED's.
I agree that the body has limits. But to be completely honest....the brain isn't made to take ANY punches to the head. Yet.....the sweet science is here as well as other combat sports. It's human nature to want to compete...to survive and win. PED's do allow fighters to go longer and harder which is exactly what ALL athletes strive for. No matter what the sport. But these other "ORGANIC" or "ALL NATURAL" remedies or those "HOLISTIC" medicines these fighters choose to incorporate are essentially the exact same in the sense they are meant to push fighters to their absolute physical peaks. The only difference is how the two supplements came to be. Theoretically our athletes are choosing to incorporate alternative measures like PEDs (whether created in a lab or produced by mother earth) because it's part of evolution. No one knows what the limits are for the human body and mind because we are always pushing that needle...breaking records and making history. Sports, science and medicine all go hand in hand these days. Cortisone or Xyloicane shots have been used in sports for a long time. Why? To help athletes push their bodies to the limits even after an injury that most likely was caused by the rigorous training they undergo for their respective sports. There are certain drugs that enable the body to heal faster, recover stronger and allows athletes to push their bodies harder. Yet those drugs are consider illegal. They are still PEDs as they improve performance. But in a sport like boxing....in the 21st century.....NOT allowing them to have a physician prescribe certain medicines to allow them to do their jobs almost puts them in a very difficult position becuase it's their livelihood that's on the line if they are not able to fight due to an injury or not being at the very best condition for their fight. Boxing is a dangerous sport. But PED's are not making them more dangerous. Not having the proper governing bodies to oversees regulating the entire sport makes boxing more dangerous. PED's when abused.....just like anything else is dangerous. But when regulated and controlled, it could be a step towards improving on the safety of our fighters.
Newsflash Vlade... They're taking them illegally anyway and the only "cheaters" are the few who get caught.
That's exactly what those bloodsuckers are aming for. $cam to get every licenced boxer to pay fees and insane penalties for THC-traces, for example. (Yes; bye-bye for smoking a joint for every pro for their entire career) That would prevent replacement opponent in case of injury or a burn. =nobody gets paid for their work. Imagine Mayweather losing $32M because opponent's stupidity with stuff they eat or use. (Guerrero walked with a gun to JFK :rofl ) Wrong. But please, tell how it goes in other sports. I promise I will laugh. That's what current **** tests are doing as we speak. Clean(ish) sample on fight night. Go watch some old Pride fights to see what's no-limits-juicing-up. Yes, just about everyone uses but they're not some ronniecolemans like you seem to think. Perfect like those full/random tests on other sports which seems to caught either nobodies or stars well after their peak performances? What kind of solution is that? Leave 99,9% of fighters out of your 'master plan'? Who replaced your brains with a loose pu55y? Sure.. have you read.. Thomas Hauser : the ped mess part 1
In that 4th fight, Pac was actually the one looking for KO cause he is tired of people whining about their past 3 close fights. He got careless in the process.
