Fighters make the trainer huh How well did Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitchko do before they got with Manny Steward ? What kind of boxer was Ken Norton with out Eddie Futch ? Trainers mold and shape fighters ,not the other way around .
It would be nice of Virgil Hunter to take on some fighters he doesn't tottally have to rebuild .. he gets reclamation projects like Khan, Angulo, and Berto.. Mike Dallas Jr is limited Virgil has taken him as far as he can go.. Mike Dallas is more like a John Molina type Fighter.. Hunter does have a Diamond in the Ruff with the older Brandon Gonzalez.. But Hunter need to get Fighters who already understand Defence and have a good transition game.. Fighters like Donaire.. Side bar I find it an absolute Joke that Robert Garcia did not do a camp with Doanire before the Rigo fight.. Thats **** poor and Donaire a Bay Area Native with Ties to Wards Camp it seems like a no brainer.. that Doniare would fit into Hunters Guidance..
Berto, Khan, Angulo were long established fighters with serious flaws. In the heat of combat their going to revert. A year of training with Virgil won't change that. Fernando Guerrero never looked great under Virgil either. Gonzales is one of his long time fighters, he looks limited but there I think you can see the real benefits of being with Virgil. He fights efficient and intelligent for someone with such little experience. I was surprised and disappointed Demetrius Andrade left Virgil, but I think it had a lot to do with Virgil having to babysit Khan, Berto, and Angulo. The hopeless big money guys. Andrade is still pretty young and has some genuine talent that Virgil may have really been able to work with.
atsch Only a soft-a.ss pansy would write something that stupid. How the **** did Floyd Sr get Bey KO'd??? Was he drugging his water? Fu.ck outta' here with that soft-serve bullshi.t.. How many fighters has Nacho got KO'd?????....I bet you see how dumb that **** is now. You gotta' stop hating lil dude...:deal
No way if Im Virgil, I let a top WORLD LEVEL WW continue fighting in that fight after the 5th. He shoulda pulled Berto in the rd when he fell on his face lunging with the L hook then followed it with a R that nearly made the made cry out in pain.
Virgil Hunter is a good trainer, but a good trainer is but one part of the formula needed for long term success in this sport. At times, Berto was still trying to use that have shoulder **** that worked so well for him in the Guerrero fight. He was bouncing around too much on his toes and expended a lot of his energy early. Berto just isn't that talented and has bad stamina, there is nothing that Hunter or any other trainer can do about that. He's speedy and powerful, but he gasses after 4 or 5 rounds. He had a good run and made a lot of money, which is more than most fighters ever get. I hope he saved his money.
Only a soft ass pansy would bark insults online. Real tough guy. Did you even watch the fight? Floyd Sr. gave bad advice going into the last round.
That crazy **** you posted deserved an insult. Sr told him to keeps hands up because he was dropping them. Bey didn't heed and got himself KO'd. Bey wasn't ready for a guy on Molina's level after such a long layoff....THAT can be blamed on Sr..:yep
He basically encouraged him to go for the KO. How was Bey not ready for Molina, he was ahead on the cards going into the last round? :huh
Floyd Sr trained Hatton 2 Hunter is a decent trainer but it takes time to breakdown bad habits and rebuild a behavior.:smoke
