While this may be true, I also find it to be a possible duck. Alexander has been playing hardball with negotiations, delaying a fight and now Karass has emerged.

I think Karass is a tough fight, I also think he style is tailor made for a boxer like Alexander. Karass is tough as nails but Khans speed would pose the bigger obstacle to Alexander.

    Any thoughts?

147 is lame, bunch of B level fighters aiming for a fight with Mayweather before he retires and leaves the division behind with no elite fighters left in it.

They could atleast fight one another and stop messing around since it's a competative division.

He has been playing hardball for a reason. Khan wanted the fight in Dubai, after the Zhong vs Cuello fiasco no one half sane wants to go there for a serious fight. What Amir Khan is doing is extremely obvious yet people fail to see through it. He's basically crossing his fingers and waiting for Garcia-Matthysse to hopefully ruin each other and he will openly call out the winner. I promise you, if Garcia-Matthysse ends quick in a victory the winner didn't need to take punishment Khan will go back to his twitter call-outs and run for the hills. Let's put it this way, at least Alexander and his team are looking for opponents, we have hardly heard anything official from Khan or his team yet and we all know they're very vocal when serious about making a fight.

Alexander is the definition of a paper champion. When will this guy step up and fight someone?

Also I would love to see him against Karass. Karass would whoop that ass in a way that would stop Alexander from coming back ever after. He thinks he's gonna walk him down.

147 is lame? Mayweather, Broner, Marquez, Bradley, Pacquiao, Guerrero, Brook, Maidana, Thurman, Malignaggi and whoever else I'm missing. Not to forget that both Garcia and Matthysse could move up as well.

Step up and fight someone?, didn't he already fight Witter, Matthysse, Bradley and Maidana?

The point i'm making is nobody will ever rise to the top of it when Marquez, Pac and Mayweather retire.

None of them are elite. It's a competative division with fighters who arn't anything special, they all lack that one thing which push them up that extra level.

Bradley is one of the best but lacks power and will eventually lose to other guys in the division, shame he ducked Khan. (plus he is boring as fcuk)
    Alexander... no explanation needed.
Maidana... loses to the better boxers
Ortiz,Guerrero, Berto - no explanation needed
Broner, Brook and Thurman - not fully proven, don't think any of them have whats needed - let's see what 24yr old Kieth has to offer in a few years

Its only Khan fans and Alexander haters even defending this fight, Thurman deserves a fight more than Khan, beating Molina and then Diaz at a catchweight shouldn't get you a world title shot at a division you've never fought in

Khan should fight Thurman to earn a shot (LOL)

Khan's no less deserving of a welterweight title shot than Alexander was when he won his belt.

No offense but your opinion of these fighters doesn't make the division dead. Fact is, there are many big names and they could all fight each other. Even Khan, who knows his hopes of surviving punches at higher weights could be fatal, is planning a slow move there.

Bradley - Big name and undefeated
Alexander - Solid fighter who already fought Matthysse, Maidana, Witter and Bradley
Maidana - Loses to better boxers but still a fun style to watch
Ortiz, Guerrero and Berto - All good fighters
Broner, Brook and Thurman - Not proven but will be proven eventually. Not being proven doesn't make them irrelevant, if anything it adds more spice to an already packed division

Might want to think positively when a division in a sport you follow clearly has a lot of names to discuss/criticize.

Alexander vs Khan will almost assuredly happen. Pay no attention to this pre fight posturing.

I guarantee you it won't happen if Khan insists on making it in Dubai.

Khan and Alexander will fight anywhere if the money is right.
