I thought Alexander Frenkel had a lot of potential, but he inexplicably gave up boxing.

The best ever was possibly Benny Leonard. Ted "Kid" Lewis also rates as one of the best.

Although he had little punching power, the original slapper Maxie Rosenbloom was one of the slickest and most athletic boxers of all time.

He was not Jewish, but Muslim, bro. The most significant and possibly best boxer ever.

Benny Leonard would be my choice for all-time.

Since 1970? Depends on whether you consider Zab Judah "Jewish." If yes, I'd say it's him. If not, probably Mike Rossman. Dana Rosenblatt might also deserve some consideration here. Other than this, the pickings are pretty slim.

Jewish mother, italian father - check Wikipedia. Dunno if he considered himself jewish, but judaism is generally matrilineal (meaning if your mother is jewish, you are considered jewish too).
