At first look, this fight has Mayweather UD written all over it. However, there are a few things that make it more interesting than most Mayweather fights.

    - 152 catchweight. Even though Canelo gets drained 2 lbs. this is still a huge negative for Floyd. He looked like **** against a shot Cotto at 154 and there's good reason for that. Floyd loses the speed at 154 that he relies so heavily upon. Add that to his age and the fact that Canelo has pretty good speed, and this night isn't so easy for Floyd.

    - Canelo has power. Even if Guerrero caught Floyd flush it wouldn't have mattered. Floyd has a solid chin and it takes a puncher like Canelo to actually have a legitimate punchers chance.

    - Floyd looked stunning against Guerrero, but the Ghost is way too small for 147 and has none of the tools required to beat Floyd. Don't expect Floyd to look nearly as good against Canelo.

With all this being said, I'm still betting Floyd UD. Canelo has decent boxing skills but this slick **** he's been trying isn't going to work on Floyd. Trout was making Canelo look BAD for a lot of that fight and I doubt he has the stamina required for a relentless assault needed to take out Mayweather.

Canelo has the best shot of beating Floyd than anyone else in a long time.

From a fan my only interest is seeing Mayweather become undisputed at JMW although at bs "cw". Lets be real it doesn't take a genius to realize that unless Mayweather goes to 160/gets really old overnight he's not losing you can say he cherry picks all you want but look at the current top 5 rankings from JWW-JMW
    JWW WW JMW
    Matthyssse Marquez Alvarez
    Garcia Bradley Trout
    Alvarado Alexander Lara
    Peterson Pacquiao Cotto
    Rios/Provodnikov Broner/Guerrero Molina/Smith

out of all those possible match ups outside of Lara and maybe Matthysse I don't see one opponent who would have even a 50/50 chance with the public.

  5. The fight is intresting because both are unbeaten and that Canelo is Floyds best opponent since JMM.

I think Floyd knows better than to try to artificially bulk up for this fight. He only weighed in at 151 for the Cotto fight at 154 and I believe that's the heaviest he's ever been.

Catch weight will be nothing but an advantage for Floyd. He is slow at 154 but there is no reason for him to be at 154, he will come in at his most comfortable weight, where he is the sharpest. Nothing prevents him from pulling a Roy Jones and weighting in with his clothes on.

Besides, the limit being 152 does not mean you have to weight in at 152, you simply must be under it.

I'd be more surprised if Floyd goes out there and sweeps every round

152 catchweught! Canelo won't be fighting at his best weight is what that's going to make this fight interesting.

Are pacturds finally coming to terms with the fact that catchweights are put into place to handicap the bigger fighter? It wasn't long ago that this entire group of idiotic fanboys was trying to argue that the 145lb catchweight for Pacquiao-Cotto was to Cotto's benefit. :deal

Trout didn't make Canelo look BAD at all. Canelo just had to figure him out. Once he did he was able to get his shots off on Trout.

I'm a Canelo fan been one since 2009. Canelo has more then a punchers chance and more than just relying on power.

Canelo has above average boxing skills, he's a student of the game. His most powerful asset is being able to think in the ring. He figured out Trout, since Trout's gameplan was to stay tall stay out of range and turn Canelo whenever he had the chance.

That worked for the first 2-3 rounds but Canelo figured that out.

I expect to see alot more threads like this...right now its all of ya'll saying "Floyd walks through Canelo" or "Floyd wins this in a wide UD"...........only for us to get closer to the fight and you Floyd huggers actually start watching Canelo's past fights not just the Trout or Mosley fight....and start to say "Canelo might have a chance" blah blah

I dont want to see ship jumpers, if Floyd is your fighter stick with him. But I am #teamCanelo all day and this kid possesses something above all this Power and Punchers chance BS ya'll talking about.....he has smarts.

Floyd will be in the ring with a self-thinker for the first time in a looong time meaning someone who can adapt in the ring without his team telling him what he needs to do each round, just like Floyd........and thats what makes this fight interesting.

i just like it because its the first time in many years that floyd is fighting the most realistic challenge around for him. just about every fight before this, i felt there was a more challenging fight that he should be taking. he is actually fighting who i believe is the #2 contender around his weight. there will be many excuses for floyd after this fight.

I actually agree with the sentiment that it will take someone who can think on there feet, adapt, and match Mayweather athletically to win, but for me Alvarez is simply not that fighter/ not yet ready. I enjoy Alvarez fights and think he has potential to be a pretty good fighter in the future, if he were to win I wouldn't be too surprised quite honestly when you have a 20+ lbs advantage and a 14 yr age advantage you should win, but until he is actually defeated you have to bet on Mayweather.
