Do your research and decide. :good

Loads of his fights are on Youtube - near as many as of Cleverly's.

I've been following Kovalev quite a bit longer than most (2011) and Cleverly even longer, obviously with him being hyped and frequently televised in the UK and thus on everybody's radar for years even before his first 'big' date with Bellew - and will be putting real money on Krusher by KO.

It has a Calzaghe v Lacy type beatdown written all over it.

Can't wait for the revisionist theory after this fight when Kovalev is brutally exposed via beatdown, 5 years from now these ham n eggers won't even rate this win for Cleverly, they will claim that Kovalev was always a one dimensional bum and be asking who Kovalev ever beat as though they all knew he was a fraud prior to this mis-match :deal

Yeah I'm going to do research on Kovalev because I've only seen a few of his fights and some of them were incomplete ones. I'm thinking maybe its inflated prices on Cleverly as many of the firms are British-based where Cleverly is reasonably well known and Kovalev is probably an unheard of for many punters, who may think he is another euro level, hard-to-pronounce name a la Krasniqui or Kuziemiski.

I'm something of a fan of Cleverly's and think he is a little under-rated (by the many that slight him on here anyway). However this is probably the most dangerous fight they could have taken for him, stylistically too. I worry that Cleverly will try to prove himself macho-style in this fight and get dragged into a shootout against a guy packing a lot more ammunition than he is. Even in interviews he seems to pride himself on his chin, saying how it stands up to the likes of Tyson Fury in sparring: He doesn't want to have his chin tested vs Kovalev too often and I hope he is smart enough to realise that and comes with a clear gameplan, for his own sake.

Both these guys are good fighters. It is quite disrespectful to compare either to hypejob Lacy.

I do see a bit of comparison with Cleverly and Calzaghe, but not really Kovalev and Lacey.
With Cleverly, he could give and take punches alot of punches early and take Kovalev to the later rounds where Kovalez stamina and being in a taught is unproven. Cleverly is not as elusive and his hands are not as fast as Calzghe to disrupt Kovalev's punching pattern tho.

Bad comparison...unless you think Kovalev is Calzaghe. Cleverly doesn't do anything better than Kovalev.

Kovalev is faster. He punches harder. His defense is better. He's a lot more fluid and moves around the ring a lot better.

Cleverly can't stop Kovalev from knocking him out. This is a 6 round beatdown waiting to happen. 2 more weeks and Cleverly will get knocked out.

Kovalev never over extends when punching and has a great sense of distance. He is not getting out worked by a volume puncher with a stationary defense.

Cleverly is in effect bringing a handful of fire *******s to a gun fight.

I really believe that Cleverly is underestimating Kovalev. I think he might not be taking this fight seriously, if so, he is in real trouble..............

The thread starter is an inveterate UK ball washer.

Kovalev stops Cleverly inside of 8.

It's hard to see anything other than a Kovalev KO, this is a really bad match-up for Cleverly - I hope he's getting paid well for this.
