I've just rewatched highlights of his fight with Wladimir. He's slick, dodges and rolls with punches well. Also I think he made a good fight, throwing a lot of hayemakers, which consume much energy so the output might look small. He showed a good chin and stamina in that fight too, two things that many people think are his disadvantages. That night he was simply fighting an atg. Wladimir showed great skill and boxing smartness. Also the size difference played a role, but Haye isn't That small. Anyway, size in heavyweight division has to be coped with, so no excuses in that part. At last, Tyson Fury is in trouble. If he wants to win that fight, he'd better come in the best shape of his life and even then, his chances are not big. What do You think?
Just think alot of people forget his cruiser days. is a very good fighter.. and like OP says, for a heavy he's so fast.. a good big un always beats a good lil un tho. thats what happened with wlad v haye... fury doesn't have the skills or brain though to not get hit by haye.. the only eway furys is winning this is if somehow he can handle hayes power which i very much doubt lol..
i agree but when people say fury has not got the skills nor brains i agree ...BUT its not only that, he is just not as talented as Haye in any aspects of the ring Haye is the far superior boxer and is more of a talent. even if fury was REALLY SMART and REALLY tempered on he night, HAYEs skills would come out on top. so its not a good vs good lil boxer like haye/vlad. its a average vs good smaller boxer.
He made a decent fist of it against Wlad and largely neutralised him. Very very little success offensively though and he's arguably too reliant on landing big singe shots.
He's pretty good, clearly a top5 HW. Only he doesn't seem to have much heart for the sport, doesn't want to take risks and is very inactive.
Good point re: Wlad fight. It wasn't great but Hayes performance was nowhere near as bad as some seem to think. Wlad is the best heavyweight out there. Haye did ok, he just didn't deliver what he promised on that night... but then, how often is that the case in boxing? Happens all the time.
yes i agree with someone above, haye dint get beat badly by vlad, vlad just neatralised hayes arsenal. if haye and vlad were 6 ft 3 would be a haye victory all day.
What an absolutely pointless comment to make, Wlad isn't 6 ft3 and if he was he how do you even know how he would fight? By the way if Scotland had better players, they'd be world champions...
I think many people rate Haye he is a quality boxer. But if I remember for that fight he over promised, intimating that he had the game plan to get to Klit, which he clearly didn't.The toe thingy didn't do him any favours either!!
Sorry!should have read this thread more carefully......Camaris is spot on..didn't really need to add my three penny worth!!!
