Not really actually, but Bute (or his handlers) were attempting to move
Bute into a shot at the top while taking the least amount of risk.

so iron Carl Froch broke Warddke's bones? no wonder he only fought only once in the last 2 years.

Difference being Ward's handlers had enough confidence (as did the
other 5 participants) to enter the tournament. Did Bute's handlers?
Being in the tournament carried an abundance of risk.

On top of that Ward won the tournament. I don't understand
the dislike for his accomplishments. He accomplished alot, even
Froch came out a little bruised but far more vetted. I don't criticize
Froch for that (much respect). I do think his fans should get a clue.

He's more loved outside UK than in,but that's because you brits like youre heroes with a glass jaw, like Khan or Fury and an iron jaw warrior is out of the question to be a superstar in UK

yes,Ward entered a world wide tournament where everyone had to travel except him. And everyone had to fight everyone but Ward, who were given Green and Bika. to quote you, an abundance of risk alright:rofl

Bute had a contract with HBO... Showtime said they didn't invite Bute, they wanted three american and three Europeans.

Ward is, until proven otherwise, the best at 168. But defending how political he has been since and during the S6 (never fighting abroad), is just nut hugging

The hand was broken before the fight. He still whipped Froch, with a busted hand.

I think Eubank was a hero in the UK and he didn't have a glass jaw

Froch laughs until Andre Ward punches him in the mouth again. For such a tough guy and Ward to not be a high KO type of guy... He stopped Froch in his tracks over and over again.
Ward's resume isn't bad. If anything injuries and now promotional problems have stopped him from having a slightly better one. No matter how good Froch's resume is I can't see him beating Ward. I don't care if the man fought literally in the back yard of his house against every opponent, nothing changes the fact that Ward still undefeated.

you are right,he's still undefeated, just like Ottke, who also doesn't have a bad resume. there should be more threads comparing Warddke with Ottke.

I don't understand why Kessler ( the WBA champ and the biggest draw at SMW at that time ) had to travel in USA to fight with an unknown prospect like Ward ? :think

Same situation when Ward met AA. Abraham was a bigger name and draw at that time and Ward should've fought with him in Germany. :yep
