Golota was a very good fighter (physically). Ultimately Sam peter never stops
and he breaks down Golota causing him to quit after likely dropping him late. The
Peter prior to his first fight with Wlad was a come forward tank that hurt people.
If you could hurt Golota he folded. Hence why Ruiz/Golota and Golota/Byrd, Golota
never lost it. He had no trouble taking their incoming shots.

That's basically my feeling too. Golota may be the better overall fighter but Peter seems to be wrong for him style-wise. True that he was able to somehow deal with that style in the Pou'ha fight but he needed a bite on the neck and Samson gassing a tad.

Like you said, Peter never stops.

golota would have been knocked out or quit like he did in the tyson fight

i talked with a bunch of guys from poland that were here working at mohegan sun and they all said golota was always a mental case in or out of the ring

That's true. Lately at work I talked to a guy that was his buddy in the old days. You probably know that Golota escaped Poland to avoid jail.. The guy told me about the incident that he was to be jailed for.

Golota was approached by 2 cops that wanted to check his identity or something.. He beat them up (battons didn't help much apparently), told them to strip naked and who knows what would happen next if the guy I met didn't come at this point.

As far as I can tell he's not a bullshiter and even though I was surprised, I believed him.

Come on guys, Sam Peter was garbage, one of the worst heavyweight belt holders of all time. This is the same Sam Peter who needed a total gift decision to get a win against a shot, morbidly obese, 40-year-old, 5ft 9" middleweight.

Peter could bully Wald for sure, with prime Golota the headcase effect
need to be accounted at any time. The fight could resemble Golota-Grant
where GOlota had the fight in his pocket but at some point he lost focus
and said to himself I need a rest. But since Peter was not the mobility wizard
Golota could as well made a bloody pinata from him as he did with Sanders.

I think with Golota there is always too many unknown factors to make
good predictions .. any result is possible at any time.

No he wasn't garbage and not close. He was inexperienced yet still gave Wladimir hell for as long as he lasted and almost stopped him in the 10th. Not to forget the iron chin he displayed in the fight. The punches he had to absorb in the Wladimir fight is what slowly ruined him.

Prime Golota was mentally unstable, he had serious skill but wasn't stable. I wouldn't be surprised if Peter gets outboxed early only to land some punches as the fight goes which eventually forces Golota out.

Golota wasnt always weak minded. I remember in the 2000s he came back with that streak where people thought he should have won vs Brewster, ruiz an chris byrd. Golota of that time frame would have beaten peter

Well yes, you never know with Golota, the bloke was a head case, but Sam Peter is so slow and lacking in basic skills it's unreal. I would definitely have Sam Peter right up there on a list of worst fighters to hold a heavyweight title.

He was very strongminded.........against guys who couldn't hurt him,
ie Ruiz and Byrd. Brewster although an underdog, could and we know
    the outcome. 53 seconds
