Fight is dangerous for both guys. Anyone on here that thinks Matthysse is some type of stone force of nature and Danny can't hurt him is ridiculous. Intriguing fight because both can hurt the other. Danny holds a small advantage in speed, and has the innate ability to punch with and in-between an opponents shots. That is the difference in this fight.
@northpaw, matthysse has the edge in speed, power, experience, and more fluid with his punches. Put the matthysse that fought peterson in with garcia that fought judah and garcia doesn't last 6 rounds. With that being said, i got matthysse by second round second round ko with garcia getting knocked down multiple times.
Garcia is #1 at LWW, he will prove it when he beats matthysse. This is going to be a great fight, whatever your opinions about the fighters are, this is clearly #1 vs #2 LWW, it's going to be epic.
I'm expecting the Matthyesse win, but props to Danny for taking it. The reality is that he woulda been commiting professional suicide by refusing to take the offer. The worst he risks (hopefully) is getting knocked down or out in the ring, and he absolutely has a chance of getting the win.
Lucas is #1. no doubt. He just didn't get the chance to take all them belts off Khan like Garcia did. I'd like to see how he deals with Peterson after Lucas knocks him out. Morales & Judah don't cut it for me and many others...
what danny has is the blessings of gbp. if he hasnt suffered a knockdown and he makes it to the final bell he will win on the cards regardless of what the punch stats look like. ffs, jsk was even going into the final round against berto. i have on idea how matthysse is a 3-1 favorite.
I got Danny to pull this off. Early hard counters to the body and takes Matthysse to the later rounds for a stoppage or decision. People think Garcia is static? he moved his head to make guys miss and his timing is one of the best, he will counter nad hard. And if you think he plants his feet and Matthysse doesn't-you're wrong. I see both guys getting knocked down fyi Also in the video about defense Lucas' defense always ends with a duck to the right...if he is that consistent in his defense, danny will and I expect him to counter. I picked up on this too. He seems to have decent reflexes, but he tends to make that same move ducking to the right. That can easily be cracked with a decent feint and uppercut.
