6 months not long enough for cut to heal Needs to build temporary stadium blah blah blah blah It's obvious neither side wanted the fight but if you have a gun to your head and had to pick one side the obvious answer is Pacquiao. Regardless of everything that happened after there once was a time where serious negotiations were taking place. That was in Dec. of 09 through the beginning of Jan. 10. That was when despite Mayweather agreeing to demands of weight penalty and glove/ring size, not the NSAC standards but Team Pacquiao's personal demands, Pacquiao publicly walked away from the fight citing being uncomfortable and unwilling to agree to additional drug testing which was the demand from Mayweather's side. I'm comfortable saying this because these were statements made by Pacquiao's team. Publicly. Admitted. Factual. All of that. If you ask me I say that Mayweather knew Pac wouldn't agree to the testing which is why I say neither side wanted the fight. But I also believe all athletics should be subjected to the highest drug testing standards so by no means do I consider that anything but a great demand that I wish every single fighter made of themselves and their opponents. Once again, Pac walked away when the fight meant the most. His team admits to doing it so I don't know what his fans cling to...
This content is protected agreed to walk away when both camps realized that they wouldn't come to an agreement before judge weinstein imposed deadline. This content is protected .
Everything was agreed to. Everything. Everyone involved has agreed that every single detail was agreed to by both sides. Except one thing. Which one side agreed to (Mayweather). But the other side refused (Pacquiao). When the mediation deadline would have come, one side would have been ready to put ink to paper (Mayweather). One side would not have been able to (Pacquiao). Which side prevented the ink being put on the paper again?
floyd should just fight him and make up all that money he coughed up in order to avoid making his drug tests public. the same nuthugging legal experts who swore pac had no case and who swore floyd never beat josies ass because there was no photo evidence. are still trying to spin this **** away from floyd.
no....floyd did not respond to pac's move from 30 to 24 day cutoff. according to arum, schaeffer and haymon tried to convince floyd on monday night and all day on the tuesday but floyd will not budge. that's when both sides call it quits before the wednesday deadline. mediation is when both sides give in a little by little until the agree. floyd went into mediation without any intention of giving in a little.
i give people leeway on not knowing the lead up to events in the first negotiations because it was quite a while ago but the lead up to ortiz? come on bro i can remember it vividly and im sure you can to pacquiao was being chased by floyd from nov 2011 till feb 2012 floyd wanted that fight BAD! he got his sentence pushed back after bob raised it as an issue bob came up with GOD KNOWS how many excuses some of them were ****ing stupid! the cut not healing in time for a may 5th showdown? what cut takes that ****ING LONG TO HEAL? instead of making the fight and earning record high paydays for everyone involved bob decides lets not have the fight at all because i want to erect a mystical stadium to squeeze just a little bit more money out of this fight. bob arum came up with a billion excuses and pac does not get off scot free for this. he is amazingly successful as a boxer and clearly a world wide icon. he does not even need a promoter does he not give arum like 30% of his paycheaque ? come the **** on he could have freelanced like delahoya did and floyd did (because he is on there level in terms of fame and success). hell even lesser fighters have freelanced like cotto leaving top rank neted him his biggest payday i dont care how hardcore of a hater you are on floyd. you honestly cant reply to this and say "if bob arum was not involved with pacquiao the fight would still not get made". i personally think pacquiao was to blame for the first round of negotations falling through though a small case could be made for floyd OSDT demands (though it looked alot worse on pac when he had big issues about it... just like marquez is coping heat for now). but no doubt can there be that in the months leading up to floyd signing to fight ortiz, he chased pacquiao for a fight doing almost everything in his power to get the fight made things i will say about floyd -dropping pacquios name saying your next. hyped his fight maybe and got him more exposure defenately...but was ****ing pathetic attempt he contradicted himself doing it after he has continuously accused pacquiao of riding off of his name - the canelo catchweight again a textbook time when floyd has contradicted himself. though i would not say the catchweight is not justified he should have after the cotto fight said "154 is not my limit" and vacated the title, its not like the Alvarez fight at 152 would not be hindered by the fact its not a unification fight. we have weight divisions for a reason floyd giving the fans what they want fighting the guy everyone accused floyd of ducking saying he would never fight because he is scared (who since floyd has fought has been nothing but "gasnelo" or "green). there has to be some give and take based on each fighters last fight night weigh ins (using floyds cotto fight as a reference because guerrero was 147) floyd - 152, canelo 172(against trout). 20lb advantage is almost unheard of outside of heavyweights and is a huge deal. GGG came in at 170! in his last fight and his a god damn middleweight!. i think alot of people just want to see floyd lose because they dont like him and i can see why alot dont, his persona that he may or may not put on for show does not exactly earn him any respect and he comes off at times like a complete ****. but inside the ring you have to respect what he does because he does it so god damn well
i know doctors say it would not weaken you but id want atleast 24 hours... did manny give a reason why 14 day cut off was not good enough for him?
Mayweather did give a little, in fact he gave in to everything Pac asked, Floyd made one demand at that point..ONE. So why didnt Pac just agree like Floyd did? Not negotiate, Floyd didnt on penalties, venues, ring size, glove type, he just accepted tham all even though the glove thing Mayweather Sr wasnt happy with. Both sides are at fault for this not happening but Arum is the major issue.
i 100% agree with you. its rare for a guy like mayweather to give up so much just to ask for OSDT in reply. he must have really thought pacquiao was not a clean athlete
