Gary I think your a sound guy but your opinions of fights and fighters are based on picking others brains, spend many many years in a gym to form your own opinion

Billy your deffo going for ESB poster of the year. You manage to give Gary a compliment but rip into him at the same time your getting pretty good at it now!! How's Ricky's sparring going with Richard Commey? Seen a pic on the Facebook page the guys some size for a lightweight and seems like a proper character :)

If he gets another 4 years of good steady experience against improving opposition he might do well given the lank of amateur exp. However if he is thrown in with a big strong experienced guy in his next couple of fights he could be in trouble.

Thats the big problem with heavy's sans amateur experience, this guy is only been boxing two years, he needs that experience.

History tells us Tommy Gilmour has never came remotely close to winning a British Title at Heavyweight with a Scot,if at all even fought for one,it's the same nonsense were getting that we got about Millarvie.
The most important thing is Gary's got time and I hope he uses it well to progress to achieve his dreams.
Why hasn't Gary accepted Alex Morrison challenge to fight Simmons a cruiser weight?

...and then you agree that he needs these experiences. But you've done nothing but rip apart his progress to date. :-(

Cornishes ever increasing abilities have nothing to do with anyone other than his own willingness to graft, follow a training schedule to the letter and fight.

He'd accept the Simmons challenge in a heartbeat.

It's the fighter who 'wins' fights. Everyone else falls into a supporting role. Do you really think that YOU win Fights?

I'd imagine that it's because he recognises the fact that he is still very much a novice and is keen to take his time and learn his trade by taking baby steps in the pro ranks as he hardly had an amateur career. Simmons boxed at the Commonwealth games and is on the verges of a British title fight, they're both at totally different points in their career and neither of them need the other one imo.

As you said earlier, Scotland hasn't exactly been spoilt for choice when it comes to heavyweights, so Gilmour knows fine well if he brings Cornish along slowly and gets him on the verges of British level in the next couple of years, he's sitting on a cash cow!
