    why hasn't he turned pro yet? he looked really good at the olympics , reminded me in looks and abilty of a young vitali, hope hes not gona be yet another wasted eastern european amateur who stays amateur

    I don't even know if he's fought one AM fight since then. Hugely disappointing for the sport.

    I don't understand it, with him being a heavyweight he could make a lot of money as a pro

    He recently won the Asian amateur championships iirc

    Because the U.S. promoters would rather give their money to guys like Domonic Breazeale(sp).

    There are actually two boxers from Kazakhstan that have potential to turn pro. Ivan Dychko and Daniyar Yeleussinov. If you recall, Daniyar has beaten Herring, the captain of the US team.
    Both won gold on the recent Asian championship, and they aim to win gold in the Olympics 2016, so it's too early to discuss their future in pro. I don't mention the others [on this latest Asian championship, 7 out of 10 gold medals went to Kazakhstan] because these two are really special.

    There were some rumors in social networks that he will turn pro after the Olympic Games.

    hes a top heavyweight
    but no offence it isn't very hard to win the asia championships lol
