Rare Footage of Dempsey sparring black guy & signing contract with Harry Wills

I put together a few clips you might find very interesting: rare footage of Jack Dempsey sparring with a black man, furthermore footage of Dempsey signing the fight contract with Harry Wills (for the fight that obviously never happened).
Furthermore you see in this video Dempsey training and at the end he is sparring with Tommy Loughran.
The vid also contains a face shot of Gene Tunney in astonishing quality.

I read somewhere he sparred with Dempsey.

The black guy Dempsey is sparring with is not Big Bill Tate, a large black man whom Dempsey worked with as a sparring partner. The black guy in the film looks like he's under 175 pounds.

 

Dempsey is sparring Jamaica Kid. This footage is from 1919 training for Dempsey's.

Turner was Sioux Indian, not black. He was also not one of Dempsey's main sparring partners. He served as a sparring partner for Dempsey for a few months in 1918.

Wow. All my years I've never seen most of this before. You would not happen to have Dempsey Miske or an unedited Dempsey Firpo film?

Years ago I tried tracking several Dempsey films through Pathe France. After months of going back and forth they told me all they had were short snippets and nothing significant of the fight itself. Hard to imagine they were there filming the bout as were numerous others. Where are these films? Do you know if better quality films of Dempseys bouts exist in private collections?

I do not have Dempsey vs Miske but I went through the list of the guy I got those rare clips from and I saw he does have Dempsey vs Miske, but I do not know which fight (they fought at least 3 times) and I do not know how long the footage is. He also has Dempsey vs Firpo but I do not know if it is unedited or how long the footage is.
What I personally have is for example footage of an older Dempsey sparring ("for fun") with Schmeling and Max Baer. If you are interested in that clip, I can show it to you. As for Dempsey vs Miske: I don't have it, I would have to pay this guy for a copy.

I have clips of a prime Dempsey sparring with lower weight fighters.


JD's speed is better than theirs. While Dempsey had his share of flaws, few could match his hand / foot speed combined with his power.
