I understand where you are coming from Billy but you can't dismiss his lack of amateur experience. I would also judge him properly when he fights somebody who will fight back but at the minute he just needs to gradually increase the quality of opponent to help him learn his trade and make sure every fight he gets someone to test him a little more.

If he was to be rushed into a fight before he is ready then it could damage him mentally and we have seen even with all the amateur pedigree in the world you can come unstuck like David Price has proved lately.

All fighters develop at different times and I really don't understand what the rush is at times to throw fighters in before they are really equipped to step up in class.

I really believe that a fight with Tom Dallas would tell us where Gary's development really is because I don't think Tom had the longest amateur career either and is a fighter that was stepped up too fast and paid the price by being stopped three times on the trot.

I have said he'd be better judged when he's stepped up even a little but I personally can't see what he'll learn from fighting the opponents he has

Cornish aiint gonny do anything in boxing, don't want to look like um slgging the big guy but he's just no up to it,he's had no amateur experience which shows in his fights so far, he will crumble when he comes up against anybody whose half decent and tommy gilmour knows that, simmons would Stop him inside 3 rounds, anybody who thinks cornish can get to a decent level clearly knows f.a about the fight game

I honestly think Tom Dallas could beat him. And I'm deadly serious with that too. All I see in Cornish is a tall bloke being overly matched against foes usually below the level of door men and still looking very poor.

I actually think he could too........but then I watch a dejected fighter in Dallas and a fighter that is right hand happy and does not use any range at all.........and then I believe Gary Cornish could walk it........if he uses his feet.

Dallas is straight lines and upright.

I also think Dallas is not the shot fighter many talk of.......with regards to levels......and for a boy that in the majority of his fights (Cornish) has or had no sparring.....it could be a a bit tight.

I don't doubt he would win.........its just the manner of it (Armchair promoter mode here)

Having the British Masters belt does put him in a certain firing line......a line that's got up and comers.........and savvy old boys wanting a belt/coin.

    Anyways.......

Having the Masters Belt only means his promoter can pick who he want when he wants as an opponent, listening to TG were lead to believe Gary is getting ample sparring is that not the case as well?
Well he'll be ok when he goes over to spar Klitchko :-(

If it happens, Dallas gets owned in style.

What's all this about the 'British masters'? Details, details ladies.

Simmons in 3......Yawn! That did the trick. Time for a snooze. Second brutal training session of the day to recuperate for.

    Keeping on keeping on.

Aye am fully aware of that.......and milk a title fight up here yadayada.

When I said firing line I was meaning that regardless of its stature (the belt).......people are gonna comment or use it as a reference point when pumping there opinion on him.

Having read your posts in this thread Billy.....you would think the way your acting that Gary Cornish had told you to do one and said your a no mark trainer.........I truly don't understand your dislike for someone who I assume you have never met.

Oh wait..........his promoter is a guy you had/have previous beef with ?

Your dislike and hate for Gilmour is your choice of course.......your manner in dealing with it is an absolute shambles.

With regards to Gary........its almost like you are scared of the exposure he or others may get......and I will explain why........as i am trying to fathom some form of reasoning to your posting.

When other Scottish fighters have been discussed on boxing forums etc recently.....you always seem to make remarks or give opinion as to them having there day......yet someday.....its almost like you dont want another Scottish fighter getting any recognition or tabloid space.

Btw......if I remember right.....you gave the same reasoning for Brophy winning against Boulder (which he didnt and i said so) as ya did to Butcher losing to Satchell ?

Off topic perhaps but seeing as we are here....

Actually....should we compare Garys career so far to Brophys.....given David had a fairly solid amateur career previously ? (Didn't he ?)

I am not digging at David either......far from it.....simply an example of a young up and coming fighter getting the rounds in........in the same way Gary is....no ?

Are you still going to sign Ross Henderson ?

I remember you were.......then you werent......

Anyways.........I honestly HONESTLY canna believe that a world class trainer such as yourself is hounding out a fighter in the manner you are.

But then you see gay accusations as an 'english disease', despite evidence of the contrary and also regualrly lie about people on here so, in the end, who cares?

I'm probably getting muddled up with someone else, but was David Brophy not a footballer before he turned boxer? If so, can't imagine he'd have all that experience in the am ranks... Could be a million miles off the mark though.

Mate if I had which I haven't any beef with Gary he wouldnt have got the chance to spar chisora a few years back, I get pissed of when we people talk up a fighter who's fought nobody yet of any note whatsoever and lets be perfectly frank hardly set the heather on fire when see on the tv,if fact wasn't he dropped in a fight.
For your knowledge mate Eddie Butcher the trainer of Iain called me after the fight and i said i never thought he won,you see the trainer who you claim doesn't want any other Scottish fighter to win anything allowed Iain to spar Ricky prior to his fight when Ricky didn't need to,both the Butcher lads are top drawer and yes I will help them again. So because I thought a fighter lost ( which the 3 judges agreed with me) you think I don't like them, ask yourself 3 full time refs and myself thought Satchell won! You thought he never, ever though for a second you maybe got it wrong?
I never signed Ross has he decided to stay in the unpaid ranks simple.
