Cintron is an enigma to me. Did the two losses to Margarito affect him that much?

I look at Cintron in 04, then fast forward to 2013 and it's like watching a totally different fighter.

Power is the last thing to go so what happened? Why doesnt he throw with authority?

Is he that scared of getting countered?

Finally started fighting better fighters that could stand up to his power unlike the previous cans he beat.

You look back at 2004 and should realize Cintron hadn't done a damn thing.

OK, he was the first to stop Hicklet Lau. Great.

He knocked out shot Reid. Big whoop.

Before Margarito I he really had not proven much.

Reid was shot, Matthysse always sucked (without a hundredth of Lucas' talent...or hell, even Soledad's...) and both Matthysse and Estrada came after Margarito I...between I and II, actually.

Those, green Angulo, N'Dou and Feliciano are his best non-robbery wins. Count robberies and you also have Antwone Smith and now Jonathan Batista. Not a deep resume, and he was never that great.

04 is nearly 10 years ago

How can you compare how he fights back then to how he fights now?

You obviously dont know much about boxing.

Cintron's Margo losses had his then trainers thinking he needed to box better. In his quest for discipline he lost the raw ability to effectively wing his punches when he felt he could. At least that's what I saw, now for whatever reason he is either unable or unwilling to try to go back to what worked for him. I believe deep down, he is rightfully disgusted with boxing and his belief is gone because of it.

The guy has fought in 42 pro fights, hes been knocked out 3 times and taken some beatings. Its called father time,it catches up to guys with long careers like Cintron.Speed, timing and determination start to diminish, all three of those things come into play when somebody is a big puncher.

Your obviously not a fighter so how can I expect you to understand.

Because he's been knocked out 3x, he can no longer put the same muster on his punches? :nut Sounds like you got into boxing like 2 years ago just like many of the posters on this forum.

The reasons you mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with the way he's been fighting.

Mental toughness plays a huge role in this sport and the losses to Margarito effected him which is why he's unable to fight with the same confidence.

Nowadays, Cintron bends over as soon as his opponents throw punches at him in close quarters and dude allows himself to get smothered instead creating distance for himself.. Due to fact, he doesn't get full extension on his punches ..

He doesn't believe in himself enough to throw punches with conviction in fear of getting countered..

It's obvious that youve never put on a boxing glove in your whole entire life so stfu kiddo.
