What are you smoking? I think it has been obvious for a long time now that any fighter moving down in weight especially after making a career in a weight division above will almost never do well.

All I read so far was Chambers blows or Mchunu is a future star.

Niether is the case in this fight.

Fact is like you said. He thought he'd carry a similar skillset into a fight with a smaller guy. 9/10 that smaller guy wins.

Wasnt alot to judge Mchunu on before that fight last night, but was clear afterwards was that Mchuna is gonna beat other CPers who are bigger than he is and change their plan and look to lead.

Chambers move to CW was very badly planned. He shoulda looked for a bigger fighter or a pressure fighter like Huck Jones or even Tarver. Hell, BJ Flores woulda been a better fight for Eddie last night.

Poor planning and even poorer execution by Team Chambers last night.:-(

 

I'd like to see more of Mchunu before saying last night was more to blame on Chambers or credit to Mchunu.

I think last night had a lot to do with Chambers not giving Mchunu any credit and thinking he'd simply walk over him. Chambers really should have taken a more professional approach to the fight than he did. Thats why someone like Wlad being on top for so long is impressive, even when he faces guys everyone knows he'll beat he puts the work in and actually goes out and does it.

I never liked the idea of Chambers going to cruiser, he loses his speed advantage and the bigger fights are at heavyweight. No matter where he fights next he needs to prepare better and he really needs to fight more than once a year like he has the last 4-5 years.

I look foward to seeing more of Mchunu as well, thats a big win for him and I want to see if he's for real and could make some noise at cruiserweight.

 

im very dissapointed in him to be honest...hes a gd boxer..but hes shown hes obviously very lazy..i can understand that it was prob very hard to obtain footage of the guy..but surly he could put 2 and 2 together and come to the conclusion that the smaller man was going to be alot ****ing quicker...hes a long way to go now with this loss

The biggest problem for Eddie Chambers is, that while trying to look good, slick and fast in the ring, he forgets to fight.

 

The biggest problem the other night is that Mchunu is faster, slicker, and better.

Moral of the story: don't be that guy, who never watches tape or researches an opponent. It leads to #BeatTheMidget scandals.

I like Chambers. He was very promising some years ago. I don't understand what happened to him. I am very disappointed :-(
