There have been reports that this fight is in the works for November, possibly televised by HBO. Both Jenning's promoter Peltz and Adamek's promoter Main Events have expressed interest.
This fight might not come to be, since so far IBF is not willing to sanction it as a title eliminator or any kind of tourney fight toward the title, which was Adamek's objective. At this point, I think a lot depends on whether HBO is willing to come on board and set this up as a main event. If it does happen, I think Jennings is the right type of opponent and Adamek will outwork him, especially if he comes in sharp and fresh like last night.
Don't know about that. If a crude ass fighter like Chisora was able to tee off on Scott at times, Adamek would probably do so more often.
I think you're right, Iz. This fight just doesn't seem like it'll happen unless HBO comes along and the money is right for both fighters. They both obviously want a chance at a Klitschko. And if the fight's not an eliminator, both guys may feel there's not much reward. You know Jennings is afraid of losing his 'o.' That's the crappy thing about boxing. If he were to lose a close decision to Adamek, which I think he would, fans would look at him differently. But it could be a valuable learning experience for Jennings . . . grrr, I hate the politcs in boxing!
I hope this fight happens. If Jennings wins, he'll be established as a legit top ten HW contender and will probably receive a title shot against Wlad. If Adamek wins, he'll prove he's still a force to be reckoned with and have a much better chance of receiving his title shot against Wladimir. I think it's a 50-50 fight, the kind of competitive matchup I like to see.
the Adamek from Saturday would win much more comfortably than the Adamek from the USS fight, if Jennings would learn to establish his jab, he'd give Adamek problems, but Adamek showed he's still able to quadruple his jab, and it would be one of the keys to beat Jennings
Who would lead in this fight???? Could be a snooze fest.:think:think:think Jennings fought off the backfoot vs Fedosov and he ate a ton of leather to the body. Fedosov won 2 of those rds, and was coming on when the fight was stopped. No way Adamek survives that UC that rocked Fedo, but does Adamek even get hit by that shot.....I dont think so. Tomasz is way to coy to be lured in like that and he rarely dedicates to body punching at this weight. No, I think Adamek is far to experienced for Jennings to beat. Seems Jennings doesnt adjust well. In his latest fights he's fought mostly off the backfoot, whereas Tomasz has once again shown that he can both lead and follow and dominate at both against Guinn. I must say that if Jennings goes to the back foot against Adamek, he'd end up eating dozens of jabs and L hooks. Dozens of em. Jennings has shown a great chin thusfar, but he aint ate multiple shot combos from a puncher like Tomasz. As much as I dont like Adamek as a HW, and as much as I do like Jennings, I voted Adamek b/c his style is all wrong for Jennings. On a side note......Jennings has a great job at the Fed Reserve in Philly. But, there's gotta be a time that he devotes his life to boxing if he's gonna compete at this level. He's showed great power speed and reflexes and is obviously dedicated to roadwork and training, but I dont think he's getting the rds in sparring needed to compete at this level. His lack of exp with world level fighters was evident in his bout with Fedo. He's gonna need world class sparring to get it on at this level, and until he gets that kindof time to train, he's not gonna go further than he is on the world stage.:-(
If you think Adamek is going to lose to a part time boxer just because he didn't look spectacular against Cunningham, you've got to be hater. Jennings is nothing special, he's worst than David Price, Malik Scott and Seth Mitchell. All of them failed to step up, why would Jennings be any luckier? Easy TKO victory by Adamek. Bet the other way if you want, it's fine for me.
I like Jennings. Granted, the US HW hype brigade of Mitchell, Wilder, Banks, Scott and the like are nothing to bother the Klits about, but Jennings is quite compact, has good power and is constantly aggressive. I pick him to shock the Pole who I feel has been poor in every fight post-Vitali defeat.
