the fight is 5 weeks away....& his in middle of his training ....Stupid timing by Golden Boy tbh

 

The timing is a bit strange.

He's in training camp and they want him to travel and take time off from his training? It's understandable if he resides in the US, but he doesn't. Now it's not the time.

Lucas will be ready to knock Garcia out on fight night. That's what matters in the end.

 

He's scared. He's never been in front of a big crowd. He's never had any type of promotion, and he turns down a 3 day tour? 3 days???. Cotto went to LA, PR, and NY. Margarito did too. Matthysse better not complain in the future about not being promoted correctly. Floyd is peeping this and probably saying Matthysse just lost out on a possible fight, lmao. Who is a true Matthysse fan here? Didn't you want to see him?

 

What would he say, that he's bought off the judges too so Lucas can expect to get screwed again?

 

People also need to realize more than travel, try being a Latin American/Asian national and trying to get a visa so quickly, that will bring up a ton of security concerns...it's not as easy as getting on a plane

 

O maybe he'd rather not waste time with the tour and is instead to busy training and preparing himself for the biggest fight of his career so far??? Did that ever cross your simple little mind, dummy???

As a true Matthysse fan, I do want to see him...in the ring and seeing him do what he does best IN THE RING. I don't live in NY, PR or wherever the **** their touring so I could give a **** less. Im pumped up to see him in the ring and do his bizz. :deal

 

Matthysse worked hard to get where he is today. He earned a shot at Garcia, he did not care about any of the others. He's already knocked Peterson out. Garcia said that Peterson would easily beat Matthysse. Matthysse is training extremely hard because he wants to be at his best. Matthysse knows that the referee and judges will be for their fighter Garcia. Matthysse has been cheated before, so he will go for the knockout. It is Matthysse that was determined to fight Garcia, if he were afraid of Garcia, then why did he work so hard to get the fight? Talk about fear, the look on Garcia's face when Matthysse stopped Peterson in the 3rd round tells everything. Matthysse just stopped Peterson. Why should he fear Garcia. Garcia is made for Matthysse. I am glad that Matthysse is taking his training very seriously. Talk is talk, but when you get into the ring it does not count. Matthysse will knock Garcia out!!!

 

This. He's always been a bit of a recluse and he's said several times that he prefers to just focus on training and fighting.
This obviously won't make Golden Boy happy (or make him any new fans) but I don't really think he cares about any of that. His goal is to win for Argentina, period.

 

He is still going to ktfo Garcia, don't worry.

Yes, I like what Matthysse is doing, taking the fight seriously. He has wanted to fight Garcia for a very long time now. This fight is his dream..............

 

I bet it has Something to do with messing up his training so close to his biggest fight to date.

 

He makes fans when he fights, not when he turns up for press conferences.
