Sure he can punch a human bag hard, but his power will disappear when he fights someone who moves, he just got a few good hits, less than 10 on trout and he will probably be lucky to land 1 clean on pretty boy floyd

A few things in response to some of the above:

    * Canelo is a strong kid who can crack.

    * SSM has a very sturdy beard so I'm not sure what's the reason behind that.

    * if anything margarito is the one who has overrated power. Someone compared the two above.

    Heavy handed, yes

But not some devestating KO artist like some people keep saying. The guys who keep comparing Canelo's power to Foreman or Jackson need to stop.

The thing with Canelo is that not only does he have very good power, he has even better accuracy as well. It's not just raw power, it's punch placement

Canelo all around is UNDERRATED. His speed, accuracy, timing, defense is top notch.

Couldn't KO pint sized 140 pounder Ndou either. Canelo's power is overated. He also pounded on Mosely the whole fight and didn't drop him. Forrest dropped Mosely esrly in their fight. Canelo couldn't in a whole fight.

So if this is true, Then if Floyd dominates him like many of us think,it would be a very good win for Floyd?

He can whack obviously but Floyd isn't going to be there to get hit.

He'll be moving, quick punches then run around etcetera.

His power IS overrated, but not because he couldn't stop Mosley. That's a weird fight to assess Canelos power from.

    Heres the reality.

Canelo is truly overrated by the media, casuals, and by his fans. Fair enough.

So after this win, those same people should be singing Floyds praises when Floyd dominates. If they don't, they are just Floyd haters.

However, to me and anyone else who don't rate Canelo as highly as others, this win, and the accolades that go with it, will be somewhat, even if just slightly, overblown. I will cringe just a bit as I see this win get inflated over the next year or two. But whatever, its an awesome fight so hey Im cool with Floyd getting the props that comes with winning. This is the fight the fans (including myself) wanted.

However, Canelo will lose again not too far into the future and as his stock drops over time, so will the win that Mayweather will most likely get come September.

However, if Canelo proves me wrong, and goes on to actually do great things after Floyd, then the win will truly be as epic as both Canelo and Floyd fans think it will be.

    idk... all just imo.

A little; but to no major extent. Keep in mind that Shane Mosley has top class punch resistance. Even quite well past his peak he simply isn't knocked out. Trout has a pretty good chin as well -- he made him do the dance.

Yeah, Canelo has some heavy punching power. But as said by an earlier poster -- this isn't GGG Golovkin we are talking about.

Not overrated. Anything flush knocks Mayweather out. Alvarez will finish Floyd unlike Mosley if hes in any kind of trouble.

    Well said.

    Except F Margarito.

Alvarez boxes and shows too much IQ and adjustments for me to ever throw him in a category with Margarito.
