I've read on a couple of videos om youtube that there is a rehydration clause on Canelo and that he can't weigh in more than 152 pounds on fight night, is that true?

I still don't understand why they didn't just fight at the limit of 154. if Floyd can fight cotto and odlh at 154, why not canelo?

From what I have read on here they wanted a fight against Winky Wright to have a re hydration clause. This was back when Floyd was fighting at 140 lbs and Wright was a big 154 lbs fighter.

Against Dela Hoya he had no choice .

Against Cotto he was not expecting much of a fight from Miguel due to fact he was faded (Boy was he wrong) so he had no problem with 154 .

Against Canelo he sees a 23 year old kid with a youth advantage, hungry , nowhere near faded , Physically a lot stronger than Cotto , Heavy handed , possesses decent skills - so therefore he askes for 152 in a hope it somehow weakens him so he can have an advantage because hes clearly feels threatened .

Hopefully i clear that up for you .

Ok. Maybe. I just know he's never had one in an actual fight.

It's a shame you missed out the fact that Team Canelo offered the 152 catchweight in order to play Mayweathers hand. It worked, he accepted.

Oscar, Mayweather and Ellerbe have all said this, Team Canelo haven't disputed it.
