you know whats truly crazy about Nathan is that he started out as a welterweight. Nathan has had a real tough career up to this point, hes beaten guys that were tough but didnt grab him the attention he deserved a bit like Carl froch in that respect till recently.

He is the only man to beat Tony Bellew and was the first guy to beat Murat and ended a year long winning streak, hes had 26 fights and moving up to that elite level.

Well now he gets his chance to get all the respect he deserves. He is facing a beast next week. If he wins (longshot) he will be able to pick his next fight.

Nathan Cleverly holds dominant victories over Shawn Hawk, Nadjib Mohammedi, Tommy Karpency, Robin Krasniqi, and Danny McIntosh.

    Duh.

Thanks for posting. I would have liked to have watched that training event in Cardiff. We are going to have to see much more from Cleverly if he is to beat Kovalev. A couple of good punches from Kovalev and any gameplan may go out of the window. A potentially great fight.

    He did no such thing.

He started for a little over four months at junior middle, having three bouts at the weight, then fought once at middle and once at super middle, and within a year of his debut was already on to light heavy where he remained for the next 21 of his 26 bouts.

I just wonder if fighting just 2 decent opponents and 5 bums in the last 3 years is good preparation for a step up such a Kovalev. Has he has been in that comfort zone too long?

Kovalev started out as an embryo himself.

Anyone know Cleverly's ring weight? He looked much bigger than Krasniqi.

Good clips of Kovalev training, again thanks for posting. Kovalev looks in great shape, lean and looking fit\lighter than normal?

Good sparring with Guillermo Jones, at 41 he's a bit of an Enigma. I had him beating Johnny Nelson all those years back, he's WBA Cruiserweight champ now, all four of his last fights have been against decent opponents and all 4 have been stopped.
