Ashley Theophane vs Pablo Cesar Cano - Mayweather/Canelo Undercard

Cano will beat Theophane. The Garcia fight was years ago. Has Theophane improved since then? No. Training in the Mayweather camp means sweet FA.

 

Well, it got Sugar Shay Smith that world title he spent the previous thirteen years dreaming about... :yep

Point taken, however. Theophane is what he is. Jab, duck, grab, and repeat. He does it pretty well - but there isn't a whole lot to him.

Likewise Cano is no Rubik's cube, he just wants to fight - which is why I think it's going to be a really awful bore when they meet. Theophane will make him miss, and hold whenever Cano gets through with anything. It's going to be very stop-and-go, with very little clean work, and nobody will be satisfied with the scoring whichever direction it goes.

 

True, it will be a very messy fight. To be honest I get get all the hype and plaudits Theophane gets from other sources. Terrible boxer in my opinion.

 

I'll give him due for being effective (particularly for taking the play away from his opponent, not so much because anything he does is all that great) but yeah, he makes for terrible watching to say the least.

Theophane looked awful last I saw of him, can't remember who he was fighting but it was some game brawler lined up to make him look good and he nearly got stopped from what I recall, on the way to a bullsht stoppage win himself.
