poor people commit more crime than people with money... now theres a revelation. if this is the reason for the disproportionate criminal statistics, then naturally it would apply across the board. this means that hispanics, which are virtually identical in the distribution of wealth among both groups, would naturally mirror the statistics in question, correct?

level of income is only one factor. Many Hispanics have parents that came from another country and children of immigrants are statistically more driven than others.
I would assume that the % of Hispanics with criminal records is higher than white people but not as high as black people. But it has nothing to do with race.
I grew up in the slums of Sacramento. Everyone was poor, and I being white was the minority. When people grow up believing that their only option is crime, many will go that way. The huge difference in the statistics comes from a failure of our society to address the reasons for this and strive to change those things.
