Yeah because Manny always gave Juan an immediate rematch. F*cking clowns.

 

I'm tired of people saying Manny "gave" Marquez a rematch like he was being kind. There was huge public demand, for rematches because the decisions were so controversial. But now we have a clear cut result. Additionally Manny often had no other options, besideds fighting Marquez, and probably kept hoping that JMM would grow old overnight. It was essentially cherrypicking gone horribly wrong.

Wasn't the KO controversial ??? Manny was winning the fight and looked comfortable doing it He made a silly mistake Marquez capitalized on it. Kudos to Mrquez But had it not been for the mistake by Manny what woud the result have been? I' like to see another fight providing Manny deals with Rios the way he should. Before you jump on me & call me a ******* or something let me say this. Yes I have my friends fighting & my fav fighters too . Id love to see them win every fight with no controversy but in saying tha I always want to see the BEST MAN WIN!!! As you know that doesn't always happen One more time Manny & Juan

 

Lol what was controversial about the knockdown? It wasn't like Meldrick Taylor/Chavez.....Pacman was OUT. COLD.

Pacquiao was also barely winning the fight in the 6 round.

 

In a sense hes right. Marquez was given countless opportunities against Pacquaio. He cant just scram now once he gets the desired result. What be kind of dickish

 

Manny made Juan a rich man. Now Juan's getting greedy and over-confident. He thinks he can keep going for years on his peds getting big fights and making big pesos. But his plans will all come crashing down when Bradley outboxes him. Juan can't fight slick fighters. We all saw what happened last time he tried.

i think it is a bit chicken**** to not give him a shot at redemption. i think juan should get half the purse and fight should be in mexico. that would be fair imo.

 

Gave him a rematch twice. The first rematch was mutual. They both thought they won. Pac should have been DQ'd in the first for hitting Marquez while he was down. Marquez didn't complain, he fought on, and in most peoples minds won that fight although it was ruled a draw. In the second fight, Marquez was robbed. In the third fight Marquez was robbed. In the fourth fight Marquez ruthlessly KO'd Pacmania.

Also note that while Pac signed to fight Marques repeatedly, it gave him excuses not to fight real welters like Paul Williams, who would have beat that ass.

Marquez already gave him 3 chances and Pac has not been able to provide a convincing win.

and let's not forget that it took Manny almost 4 years to accept the first
rematch, about 3 years for the second and 1 year for the third even after
the huge public outcry and Arum's promise for the immediate rematch.

JMM will accept the 5th(should he get past Bradley)! Right now he holds the cards and is playing them right:deal

 

Marquez earned his rematches, through hard work and incredible results in the ring. He was like a nightmare that wouldn't go away, you rob him but he beats a couple of guys and is right back in the picture.

That being said, I still think Marquez should give Pac a rematch, if Pac beats Rios and looks good doing it. Not mentioning the 6 + mil he would get from the fight, from the boxing perspective it's the right thing to do.

 

To those saying it's unfair because Manny gave him 3 rematches, I have a quick question--what if Manny knocked out maruqez cold in one of their previous fights? Do you think he'd give JMM another rematch??

The reason he had to give JMM rematches was because every single one of their fights were highly controversial. Even Manny's own people in the Phillipines had mixed reactions as to who actually won their first 3 fights. Personally I thought JMM beat him by a point in their first fight, the 2nd fight was a draw and JMM won the 3rd fight by about 2 or 3 points. So the fact that many people disagree with the scoring in the first 3 fights was the reason Manny fought him a 4th time- to try and erase any doubt that he is the superior fighter.

I thought Manny was going to stop him in the last fight until that picture perfect shot knocked him out cold. Once again, if Manny had knocked him out cold in any of their previous fights, I honestly don't think he would've given Marquez a rematch.

Still, would love to see them fight again. Styles make fights and these 2 are just perfect for each other in the ring.
