the people saying he is injured need to disclose what their sources are. No naming names but is it just a mate of Barker or someone in the camp or what? Otherwise it just comes across as some loser making up a rumour. Anyone can make up rumours. I heard Canelo did his back in but is still going through with the fight.

I'd like to know what the sources are too.

But a good few of the bookies have widened the odds on Barker and shortened them on Geale, just a little but this may indicate that there may be truth to the rumour or it is very widespread as I doubt the bookies make their odds based on what they read as rumours on boxing forums..

No, but the odds are affected by bets that are placed, so if people read things on a forum and bet big against Barker then the odds will widen.
Has to be quite hefty bets of course, but can play a big role.

Doesn't need to be hefty bets to shift a boxing market really. Anyway judging from barkers tweets tonight about smashing training sessions it's almost certainly bollocks

For sure its his best chance of winning a world title and it would be great for the UK to have another champion but i think its still a very hard fight 50/50 he needs to go out there and rip that title from him coz he aint gonna get avours over there lets be honest

Andy Lee and Barker are mates aren't they? More likely to have Lee v Barker than Macklin v Barker I would imagine!

    Agree with Billy.

Macklin has had three cracks at a world title, maybe he should have got the nod against Sturm he beat him more convincingly than Geale did imo but he was knocked out in his other two efforts. If anyone deserves a crack its Martin Murray who proved he's world class against Martinez.

Barker with Sky Sports and Murray is with BoxNation, it isn't rocket science!

With the state of his back/hips, Barker can't waste time picking his opponents. He will need to seek out the best and most money spinning clashes now.

Him v Macklin would be a cracking headline match, and one that could be easy to make!

BoxNation would be mad not to let Murry fight Barker for the world title on Sky. they would more than likely have another world champion if that fight happens.

the champion holds the cards so Murry should have to fight on Sky if it was the other way round it could happen on BoxNation.

That's it, they will probably figure that Macklin is about ready for the taking.

Milk the Irish factor, along with the fact that Barker is a proud Brit, it could be a really good clash!

It's easier to make, generates more cash, and a fight at this stage they are probably confident of winning.

Macklin gets a win in November, and they do it on Paddy's day weekend!"

I can't name names but my source is someone related to one of the camp members of Barker. barker has not once shown any panic over the Back pain, its his management and coaches who tried to get him to consider delaying it.

If Barker isn't panicing then why did you say he'll be going for the KO from the opening bell as if he can't last the distance?
