To put it in perspective. Tyson Fury's 22nd pro fight will be against David Haye. Probably the 4th best heavyweight in the world. Deontay Wilder's 22nd pro fight was against Jesse Oltmanns. Who is he? Never heard of him. Gotta laugh at the dumb Americans who are so desperate to have a good heavyweight again that they're willing to pin their hopes on "Windmiller" Wilder who got knocked down by Dustin Nicholls and Harold Scornier :rofl:rofl:rofl
And fury will be getting ktfo and be a laughing stock of boxing soon. Wilder wouldnt struggle will pajic etc.. Wilder would have a better chance than fury.
He is clearly not being matched with anyone with a pulse, because his handlers have seen he is not up to it...and would be brutally KTFO. They want to milk the cow to the maximum before cashing out. Tony Thompson or Eddie Chambers would both brutally knock him out.
Well we will find out in the next year about mr wilder, the showtime of this world, don't let tomato can opponents.
Well, duh, his best win is over a 37 year-old Lyakovich who hadn't fought for 1,5 years and who was stopped in his 2 most recent fights. So far, we really don't know anything about Wilder yet except that he has the perfect physique to be a dominant HW and he has real KO power, which counts for something. How much it really counts for, we will find out when he faces a world class guy who can take his punch and keep firing back.
So what? Let them pin their hopes on someone. No need to ridicule them. Britain's hardly swimming in great fighters at the moment
Wlad didn't get dropped by tubs of lard like Harold Scorniers and Dustin Nicholls when he was fighting bums.
Wlad was knocked down by Steve Panell in 1998. Certainly no world beater compared to Harold Scorniers or Dustin Nicholls.
Tyson Fury against Haye is actually a mistake on Fury's part in some respects, but makes sense in others. Fury has a chance to be a long-term champ, but he's taking Haye for great Brit domestic money because Haye is on the outs and a year from now, Fury's best domestic fight might be against Price or Chisora... that would kind of suck for him. So he's trying to catch Haye on the outs. BUT, even if he loses, I still have seen enough skills from him to think he can be a world-champ. His boxing is not based on athleticism, so it's not a big deal when he loses some of that from age. Wilder probably beats Fury right now, but Fury beats Wilder over the long run. With that said, and as others have shown, comparing who's fought who at what age is ridiculous.
Not really. Froch - A world champion. 2nd best Supermiddleweight in the world in a very strong division and I actually think in a rematch he would beat Ward. Burns - A world champion. Again, one of the best in the world in a strong division. Cleverly. A world champ, about to beat Kovalev and one of the few light-heavyweight boxers brave enough to step in with Kovalev. McDonnell. A world champ who utterly schooled Julio Ceja who was one of the biggest prospects in the Bantamweight division. Haye. One of the top 5 heavyweight boxers in the world and, before he left the division, was the BEST cruiserweight in the world. Fury. Again, one of the top heavyweights in the world. Groves - The best prospect in the super-middleweight division. Brook - Hasn't fought the best opposition yet but he's still a great boxer. Murray - Beat Martinez, the best middleweight in the world. Barker - Dominated the first 5 rounds against Martinez, about to beat Geale.
