Has Juan Manuel Marquez lost more respect than any other boxer lately?

With all this refusing to be tested by certain organisations, I get the feeling a lot of people are now convinced Marquez is on something.


Or may it just be the Pacturds resurfacing with new aliases to bash the man who knocked their hero spark out? :think


I will always respect Marquez, but even I must admit, these recent developements stinks to high heaven.

Before this, Marquez was widely recognized and respected as a genuine warrior on these boards, among the likes of Cotto.

loss of respect? all i see are a bunch of teeny boppers bitching and moaning with rumours like they are back in high school..

anyone with boxing knowledge knows what kind of shot finished pacquiao, it was not raw power .... it was a counter shot... iv been dropped by a body shot once that had me rolling in agony for 5 minutes yet the next week i was taking similiar body shots... the one that dropped me i jumped in on.. believe me when i say there is a big ****ing difference.. i ask.. no i beg! of any idiot on this forum spitting bull**** rumours to atleast make there arguments tolerable by showing you have some experience when it comes to boxing

is marquez's STR and Cond coach a known PED chemist ? yes

has he since aided commisions in helping identify PED's ? yes

does marquez's refusal to take additional testing arouse suspicion ? yes it does

does it make him guilty? NOPE

did marquez offer to do additional testing in the lead up to the 4th pac fight ? yep

did pacs camp decline the offer ? yes




has marquez showed any real signs of PED use? i dont think so.. his never been a boxer to rely on his power and i dont think he has any extra now. people are jumping on the roid head bandwagon because of one fight (or more one single punch). marquez is almost 40 years old and still going strong but nacho beresteins fighters all have a history of staying at elite lvl at an unnatural age (finito lopez and zaragosa are prime examples).

Seems to be mainly Pacquiao fans, which I don't understands as Pacquiao also turned down testing in the past.

Doesn't help that Marquez is working with a former PED dealer, but it is hard to tell how much opinion has changed on this board as it seems to be mainly new posters overall who have joined in 2013.

 

I never judge athletes based on their body look at a weigh in, but at his advanced age Juan was looking pretty strong. It's only a good indication with the likes of naturally flabby bodied fellows like Vargas = every single weigh in pic in his life looked absolutely nothing like the De La Hoya one. Juan isn't that extreme, but he did seem stronger (and slower) than normal, and his physique was the most developed it ever looked.

I guess it's a genetic bias - if Juan Diaz showed up ripped to shreds, knowing that he had been in great shape all his life but always looked like a fat little boy, I would be suspicious. Juan Marquez isn't that bad, but ... there's still something fishy about the people in his camp. Oh well. He didn't fail a test and I will go with innocent until proven guilty.

Bradley is a good guy ... but are there any, compared to legends like Marquez?

 

PEDs are bound to be a lot more widespread than most people imagine
having a splintered sport, ruled over by numerous federations guarantees a less than efficient system to police this problem

 

Just curious if Pacquiao has taken the test?

Marquez has been on my top 5 favorite list...I wish he would just take the test to silence his doubters.
If anything do it for the sake of the sport you love and has made you wealthy!!!

 

pac taking de test for rios fight. Using VADA. Marquez lost my respect when he hooked up with memo. I just know marquez will do anything for an advantage. Poor guy probably doesnt even know hes on that shiet.

 

I dont think so. many people exaggerate how well marquez looked in his last fight with pacman compared to previous fights. the only fights marquez hasn't showed up in great shape was against floyd. The difference in fourth fight with pacman was he added muscle and still only weighed 143 pounds i believe.
