Stop comparing Ali to any fighters of our era

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by iWantToLearnEng, Aug 11, 2013.

  1. Who was Ali?? Who has he ever beat?? He fought mostly against guys, who wouldn't even be sparringpartners for Tomas Mrazek or Andreas Sidon nowadays. Jason Gavern would be P4P #1, unbeaten.

Ali was fast, yeah, whatever .. Ali wouldn't have any chance against the Klitschkos, Prime Tyson and all the others you are comparing with him.

Ali was good, but Ali would be a nobody nowadays. He would be a faster version of Travis Walker. Those are different eras, you can't compare a boxer from back then to today.

Watch his fights, watch other fights of his opponents, study his resume .. stop hyping him.

While I agree to an extent.. Foreman did "have a chance" against Holyfield or Moorer in his 40's and Ali did "have a chance" against prime Foreman. It has to mean something, no?

Ali was ROIDED to the eyeballs. We know this. Look at the size of his head in the Foreman fight. He started off at 105lbs at 12 yrs old and was KOing big guys like Foreman just a few years later. He was on that A-side ****.

Ali shuffle = more skill than the whole of the current heavyweight division.

Even smaller faster lighter fighters like Pac have trouble pulling off a shuffle lol
