Billy Nelson replies to Joe Gallagher BritBox interview, Crolla vs. Burns?

Well i have to say i think both Billy and Ricky are genuinley good guys who live and breath the sport, you need belief and confidence in all walks of life and i see nothing wrong with his views on Ricky. I remember back when Ricky's camp agreed to fight Katsidis i immediatley thought wooo bad move , then Billy said Ricky was better than Katsidis and would beat him , i thought wow thats a bold statement but he was right.

I think Ricky is a class up on Crolla at the moment and would win that one , Crolla is a good little fighter but for me he gets tagged far to often, needs to sharpen up on his defensive skills. Id like to see Crolla fight Derry again or avenge his defeats to Sykes

Just cant wait for this fight with Ricky and Beltran , any ideas what the undercard will be ?

Crolla v Burns is a pointless stupid fight

it would be a complete foregone conclusion. Mitchell is twice the fighter Crolla is.

To be honest if i was ricky and billy though id be all over it as its prob a decent payday and an easy nights work whilst racking up another title defence.

 

To be fair you cant blame someone for saying things about Broner, the guys a complete ****ing knob, just look at him post fight vs Paulie to see what a total no class **** he is, anyway i dont really blame Gallagher, all trainers hype their fighters, but i think its stupid to talk about putting Crolla in a fight he wouldnt have a chance to win, he did the same to Murray and in my opinion ruined him, could do the same to Crolla

I have to agree with the guy. Gallagher needs to stfu.

 

Come on, are you really saying ricky would beat gamboa, broner, abril? heck maybe even demarco would beat him.. How can someone be the best lightweight in the world but lose 7-0 in rounds to an unknown fighter lol. You never ever see that happen to truly world class fighters

 

Gallagher comes across as the *****, not Billy.

Like Adam Booth says, the trainers job is to get the fighter prepared and in the best shape possible, not to shout their mouths off slagging off other fighters.

Gallagher seems desperate for recognition as a trainer and to be in marquee fights for himself. I may have him wrong, but for me the fighter is the one the focus should be on...

Billy talks a lot on here, but it's a forum at the end of the day, you don't read about him slagging off other fighters/trainers to journalists looking for publicity.

I don't always agree with what Billy Nelson writes but all he does on here is defend his fighter as he believes in him. I don't always agree with how he goes about that but that's his choice, at least it's his fighter he's interested in and not himself and his own reputation.

 

Haha you're a funny guy Billy. I told you this the other night......Gallagher affects you. If you wernt bothered about Gallagher a man in your position wouldn't comment. No1 ever kicks a dead dog ;-)

 

Billy is right, but it would be refreshing to see him apply the same standard he holds others to, to himself.

gallagher has been found out every time he gets to world level whilst billy has a world champion and one of the p4p best in the uk

Crolla couldnt even beat Kevin Mitchell or John Murray let alone Ricky Burns he'd get stopped inside two rounds.

Every fighter who is a champion knows at some point hes going to get called out by someone who dont deserve it! do you really think hes bothered?

Ricky beat Roman Martinez, Crolla would get stopped inside a round bny Martinez, gallagher and his team are just looking for a payday.

Crolla aint no bum but its all about levels
