Just had a thought tonight....I've been thinking for a long long time about this one.
Forget the **** about Calzaghe v Lacy comparisons.....this fight to me is a carbon copy of Jamie McDonald V Julio Ceja!!!
Yeah Kov coming into this one with superb ko ratio( like Ceja).....Yes Kov coming into this with HBO backing ( Celia again)....Yes Kov looking a genuine steamroller (as Ceja was)!!.....BUT!!!!!.....What happens when Kov is out punched....what happens when Kov is chasing shadows....what happens when Clev unloads a decent combo in the later rounds when Kov is blowing!?...what happens when Clev doubles up the jab time and time again ....will it dishearten Kov !???......**** yes it will!!!...Just like J McDonnell did to Ceja !!
Yeah it will be close......Yeah there will be times when Clev looks finished but at the end of the day Clev takes this by a hair raising SD/MD.......COME ON CLEV LAD!!!!!
(Puts tin hat on and retreats for a while lol)

Huge amount on Kovalev by KO and I mean huge.

Big double - Kovalev KO & Barker KO, although I might do Kovalev in the first 6 rounds and Barker KO, decent odds there.

Barker by KO?. I hope so mate. Why you fancy Barker by stoppage Liv?.

I fancy Kov to win by stoppage. If he doesn't get it he may struggle down the stretch but for me Cleverly will present to many chances for Kovalev to turn away and his power seems legit to me. I think the bigger bullets Kovalev possesses out does the BB Uzi gun Cleverly has.

First bet Lirva might win, forget the Barker one though Kovalev on its own is easy money

It's a good fight, if Nathan stands in front of him he'll get knocked out but I think if he boxes smart and to a plan then he can win it on points.

    Clev on points.

It will be a close fight though. Clev has to box smart to win this and avoid Kov's power but... I do think he has the boxing IQ and boxing abilities to do so. He's very underated as a boxer.

Kovalev will have to fight Cleverly, Cleverly's referee and his judges, but I think he will still win the fight by knockout. I wonder how the referee will help Cleverly? Too many believe that Cleverly is another Calzaghe, but he is not. Calzaghe was one of my favorite fighters. He was way more talented that Cleverly, could adjust to anything, and naturally talented too.

I hope you mean in terms of one boxer outclassing the other and not in hype terms because there is no way Clev is hyped, especially to the level Lacy was by Americans.

Tough fight i reckon, close fight and whilst Clev might get ko'd i doubt he will be outclassed skill wise

I cannot stand Nathan Cleverley and would love nothing more than to see him get knocked out on Saturday.

But personally I think he will box the ears off Kovalev. None stop movement, quick combinations, better engine and work rate. He will probably have to take a few shots at some point but I think his chin is pretty decent and I think he will go away with a wide unanimous decision.

Kovalev is a voluntary defence, this is not a mandatory so Clev doesn't have to fight him. I think W***** and the Clev team see Kovalev as a hype job with a padded record that will make himself a name in America so have jumped at the fight.
